Wonderful model of a really cool seaplane. Works fine in my VP mod_pack 5.30/4.12.2m. The only problem I have is no interior sounds. Ok in outside view. Would the cause be I do not have a PW R-2000 sound in my samples?

My log:

'FlightModels/PrattWhitney_R-2000Fokker_Series:FokkerTVIII_FM.emd' is being loaded from File: 'fokkertviii_fm'
FM called 'FlightModels/PrattWhitney_R-2000Fokker_Series:FokkerTVIII_FM.emd' is being loaded from File: 'fokkertviii_fm'
Flight Model File FlightModels/FokkerTVIII.fmd:FokkerTVIII_FM contains no Mach Drag Parameters.
FM called 'FlightModels/FokkerTVIII.fmd:FokkerTVIII_FM' is being loaded from File: 'fokkertviii_fm'

I did find and install a PW R-2000 sound from my backup, but no joy.

If you look further down the log file you should find this line:
Code: [Select]
ERROR [com.maddox.sound.SamplePool@4d4834] Cannot load sample pool: motor.Wright_2600_Series.start.begin'motor.Wright_2600_Series' is the sound pack that is being used.
Here's the sound pack, drop the presets and samples folders into
the 'Fokker_TVIII' folder and you should be in business:

Good Luck

I see in this forum that this aircraft has worked in DBW and BAT 3.4. Is there a reason it has not been included in BAT Flashpoint?

I see that this aircraft is not in the current BAT, so it's not "official" yet.
Just to note that in UP 3.4 it flies very well... too well !  8)

I'm just curious, what is the maximum speed? If you have a chance to check.

Re: Fokker_TVIII - upgrade option
« Reply #23 on: July 15, 2024, 09:08:57 AM »

This fat Fokker was a bit too much of a rocket so I began tinkering with the FM on my own.
I want to share the result and an upgrade option here. You will have to have the original package. Then add these files, replacing the old ones.

Here you will get 2 for 1!

I made an early and a late FM.
The original version W/G  was equipped with two Wright R-975E3 with ~450hp, giving it a top speed just shy of 290km/h. The later T.VIII-W/C version used a pair of Bristol Mercury with almost double the output. The top speed was increased to about 360km/h at low altitudes.

Do not worry, the AI takes their sweet time to get going under heavy loadout, but they will get off the water.

I hope you like this option 8)
