Thanks again, Stanislao!

So, Since there's no catapult on ships to launch these seaplanes, I had to do the poor-man mission-builder workaround.  This has the airplane just above the ship in "Airstart".

The Kamikaw Maru mod ship does have a non-working catapult but it's there, nevertheless, and we can use that to simulate being launched by catapult off the ship.
The way I did it in the FMB is to place the airplane about 13 meters altitude at 200 kph and directly above the catapult and about in the middle of it (so that it doesn't explode by hitting ship cables, etc).  The catapult is at an angle so put the next waypoint along that angle, about 1km away, 50m altitude, 200kph.  You will have to airstart but it does give some sensation of getting off the ship.  Unfortunately, you cannot start the engine and prepare for takeoff.
...I learned that mission-builder trick from Beebop, Dubbo, and zeus-cat - - Thanks guys!

The next problem with this F1M2A seaplane is that it has trouble taking off on normal ocean water.
(Attaching the plane to a seaplane base takeoff point works fine).

Here's a workaround for that issue:
In the FMB, make the first waypoint "airstart" at 3 meters above the water and at 140kph (the lowest possible speed).  Put the next waypoint at 3m, 140kph, at about 1km away.  This allows the plane to drop on to the water's surface without damaging the airplane and you can then takeoff off the water...and enjoy a safe flight!

edit.  Actually, with more testing, this airplane can takeoff with a takeoff waypoint on the open ocean.  Yesterday, the plane was bouncing up for some reason, so I figured it couldn't takeoff, but now it can.  Sorry for worries.

Also, there is a known issue about the floats breaking off on takeoff.  I tested with no bombs and 70% fuel and they seem to takeoff just fine.  With a heavier takeoff weight there is more incidence.

Default skin is 2048 size not a standard 1024 and it cause that skin not show up.You need HD mod to make it work.

stoney69 said : So, wonder why mine don't show a paint.

same here, 1024 skins would not show in FMB for me; I think the issue with the non-HD skins is the skin1o.tgb in \3do\plane\F1M2A-Pete(multi1)\summer.

Re-sizing to 1024x1024 & replacing this file gets me Stanislao's beautiful paint-jobs without having to go HD dll's.
