The model is HMS Nelson. Needs a few alterations to represent HMS Rodney, like removing the large external stairs from the rear of the bridge structure and a few other things.
This is Rodney

I have great sentiment for this ship. In my childhood I built his cardboard model in 1/300 scale. It required a lot of work and I was very proud of it
I am looking forward to the final result of the work asheshouse.

... a very unique battleship construction, with main armament of nine 16-inch (406 mm) guns all carried forward of the bridge ...!  o_O

Not entirely unique. The French built some warships with similar layouts. Dunkerque Class and Richelieu Class. They were a response to the Washington Treaty restrictions which limited all up tonnage. Grouping the main turrets together saved a lot of weight.

Dunkerque

Richelieu

Ashe,
Is this the HMS Nelson that you were working on back in 2014:

or is it a new model. Just curious.
