Biwako international Airport
The airport planned to be built in the early 21st century was abandoned due to the opposition of some people and economic reasons.
The runway is only 2000m, which can not operate B767, A300 or bigger aircraft, and this is one of the important reasons for the lack of actual construction of the airport.




The card was sold by Shiga-Ken government to promote the new airport at that time.



Chubu international Airport
This is a large international airport south of Nagoya-Shi, runway is 3500m. I made it according to the state of the airport in 2019, added terminal 2 in the south.
In addition, a few years ago, it was reported that the airport was going to continue to expand and build the second runway. However, as there is no further information, I didn't make the 2nd runway.





In addition, I found such a map on the Internet. This is routes of Nitto Aviation operated between 1960 and 1940. I found that Shima（志摩） is also within the scope of my map. Since there is no airport in the area, I think it is very likely that the amphibious aircraft operating locally (take off in Osaka or Nagoya with landing gear attitude, and land as a seaplane at Shima). But I can't find the situation of the trestle used by Nitto Aviation in Shima. I'd appreciate it if you guys know something about it.

Some new airfields
The first is Nagoya Airport (JASDF Komaki Airbase), which is located in the easternmost part of this map, because the taxiway and buildings of this airport is complicated. So I did it unexpectedly for a long time.




China Airlines Air Crash Memorial Park, at the south of Nagoya Airport.
1994, Taiwan’s China Airlines Flight140 (A300-B4) crashed at this place, killing 264 people. It was the second deadliest air crash happend in Japan.

Shin-Meiwa seaplane base.
Japan's largest manufacturer of seaplanes. This is where the famous US-2 seaplane was made and its first flight.



Shima seaplane Airfield.
Between 1960 and 1964, Nitto air operated G-44 and G-73 seaplanes here(Between Osaka, Nagoya, and some other stations in South Wakayama). As I said a few days ago, I really didn't find the trestle used by Nitto aviation. I can only infer that it is near the trestle in the middle of the Ken-Shima.
Originally, during the same period, Nakanihon Air also operated seaplanes near here. But the exact location of that one is more difficult to find. So I only made this one for Nitto air.



Ikoma-San Glider base
Built in 1941, mainly used for glider training. In 1943, it was expropriated as an aviation base by the Navy. After the war, it was restored to civilian land. Now it's the parking lot for the Ikoma-San playground.
The famous Japanese glider pilot Makoto Shimamoto, trained here in his early years.

Now, the only airfield left on this map is the Gifu base. I'll release the first version when I'm done with the Gifu base. After that, I will continue to complete the ground surface and some famous scenic spots. It is expected that the whole map will be basically completed before Christmas

Finally, I finished the last fairfield on this map
JASDF Gifu Base (Kakamigahara Airfield)
This is the oldest existing airfield in Japan (the real earliest is the Tokorozawa Airfield, but it had been turned into a park in1972, but Tokorozawa still have the command post of the Tokyo's air traffic control area). Gifu Base was originally an army artillery training ground, and converted into an airfield in 1917.
It was accepted by the United States after World War II. At that time, U.S. Airforcs had been using the 900m runway 09 / 27 runway left over from World War II. After it returned to Japan in 1958, JASDF rebuilt the current 2700m runway 10 / 28.
However, the old runway has been preserved. Now, the central Japan glider club will use the winch to take off the glider on this runway at the weekend. If you go there, you can experience a glider flight for 4000 JPY, about $38.
The area marked in red is the old runway. Since fixed wing aircraft are not allowed to take off and land on this runway, I didn’t set a birth point here. But you guys can put catapults here in the mission editor to simulate the winch lol.

Ummmm, If you mean the Map_ F.tga, yes, I haven't made it yet. I need to finish all the landscape before I do that one.
