Need help removing mods
« on: July 27, 2020, 09:26:06 AM »

So I downloaded the VP modpack and Victor's soundpack, but I would like to remove them and revert back to the original game. Could anyone help me out with this?

1) Shift+Delete game install folder
2) Reinstall 1946 from scratch to whatever version you want.
3) Profit

Already did this. The game will no longer launch in Steam unfortunately. Any other thoughts? I even used Steam's "check integrity of files" tool, and it still won't run.

Can you run the game without running it through Steam..? I don't use 1946 through Steam. Sorry, I use the OG 4.07 disk.

Yes, I can run the game from the .exe file, but for some reason not through Steam. I only want to run it through Steam so I can use the native DualShock 4 settings ( I don't have a joystick sadly)

*edit

Just to add everything I've tried so far: uninstalled and re-installed the game. Tried v. 4.12 and 4.13. Ran compatibility settings with XP Pack 2 and Windows 7. Ran the program as an administrator. edited the .ini file to change the resolution.

So far, the same thing happens everytime I try to start the game through Steam. The game says "running" for a few seconds, then nothing. If I run through the .exe file, it starts fine.

**edit 2

I wound up re-installing Steam to solve the issue. I made a mistake when installing the modpack, so it's on me.
