Just a couple quick questions:
1) How do I return the empty shell casings?
2) Which campaigns are certain to work on VP Modpack? E.g., ones made for DBW, HSFX, UP?

1/ delete #SAS/EFFECTS_Gunsmoke_v1 folder

2/ There's no general rule for campaign compatibility, in my experience there always will be some error because of game version and name changes. Usually you have to edit a DBW or HSFX campaign in order to have everything working correctly. It not something a beginner can do because as soon as you open the mission in the FMB it discards the unavailable assets. Pre 4.12 the game had different AI so you also have to readjust and test everything to have balanced gameplay.

M4T has 600+ campaigns for the stock game all of those work (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&c=2) + there are around 200 included dgen campaigns in the modpack.  If thats not enough learn to build your own campaigns or learn how to rework campaign made for old modpacks.

First of all, a big thanks for the magnificient modpack. I thoroughly enjoy it over any modpacks I have tried in my 10-odd year of using mods (who else still remember the golden days at AAA?).

BTW, I regret to report that all Avengers are very difficult to fly due to being heavily out-of-trim (you would need a hefty amount of rudder trim just to keep the ball centered) and roll axis is very sensitive. Does anyone know a cure? Thanks in advance!

Install the SAS Avenger pack for better FM.

I am also having trouble installing the Claymore's Fw-190s into the pack:( I followed this instruction: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,52944.0.html But it still crashes at 51% loading whenever I try flying any of 190s.

I'm not sure about those instructions. As far as I can remember the Claymore Fw-190 pack needs:

1/ ini entries added (#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects)
2/ sfs files into SFS_AUTO folder
3/ classfiles into #SAS

The problems is that it needs a java fix which is currently not really available for 4.12. The one posted here (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,63497.0.html) is for 4.13 and may not work. I have not tested it yet.

Hello All

I have tried to install Vp mod for the first time using a clean install of the game (Never used mods with IL2 before) all appeared to go well but once I press 'Launch IL2 now!' on the il2 selector the game closes instantly (I know it tries to open because if I set the option for 'close selector when il2 closes' to on the selector close too. Has anyone had this issue and if so what is the fix? Sorry if this has been solved before but I couldn't find it!

Just done a fresh install of base game then 4.12.2 and finally vp mod no luck... followed guide carefully!
resolution is correct, even tried copying in the sample.

The only log I can get is this:

thanks now looking for those folders. Regards log.ini it does not seem to exist even though I have followed the instructions for creating it …

You need to open the conf.ini and change LOG=0 to LOG=1 and then save conf.ini.
After you adjusted the conf.ini, run the game and a file named log.lst will be generated into your games root folder where the exe files are.
Take this file and upload it somewhere ( https://uploadfiles.io/ is free and doesnt require registration, files kept for 30 days) and post the link.
