OpenGL is good. :)

OpenGL is not that good if you have an ATI Radeon....  :(

I tested DirectX instead and now the wheels shows up ok, so it's probably the bad ATI driver that can't handle the wheels for some reason. I've tested all available drivers for my video card and only found 2 that works well with IL-2 1946.
The driver I'm using now is 11.5.

Is there anything else I can try that might help?

I can't see anything wrong in technics.ini:

Description    Opel Blitz 36S

// Models
MeshSummer         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/summer/live.him
MeshSummerDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/summer/dead.sim
MeshWinter         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/winter/live.him
MeshWinterDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/winter/dead.sim
MeshDesert         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/desert/live.him
MeshDesertDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/desert/dead.sim

Everyone seems to not have any problems with these vehicles except in your game.
I really don´t know what may be the problem. It could be numerous things.

But I can give you a suggestion for you to try. This will also give your game an upgrade.
You MUST do this yourself and mod your personal game  ;)

In the past months I have been fixing up files and skin textures for ALL of our vehicles, and
recently I have fixed the Opel Blitz series trucks.
Download is here --- for all new STATIONARY and STATIC versions ---> https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,52671.0.html

PAY ATTENTION to the following!
YOU MUST rename your folders inside your game for this to work properly.
Because the stationary vehicles must load first before the static versions - this will help in reducing future problems
with some 3d-models which share the same-name files + skins.

Inside your #SAS section you will see a folder named "VEHICLES_New_WYNFLYR_Cars" (or something like that - it has
Wynflyr name on it and cars)
and renamed this folder to "VEHICLES_Cars_1_Stationary".

Then you will see another folder named "VEHICLES_Cars".... so renamed this folder with
the name "VEHICLES_Cars_2_static".

This way your game will load first the vehicles that are moving (the Stationary versions)  ;)

Inside my download package  there is a simple to follow instruction READ_ME on how to install these new truck versions.

If your going to install my new updated versions, Do keep the vehicles named folder the same, but erase all the files and
the skins from inside those folders.
Get rid of the old stuff. My files and skins cannot be overwritten, because they contain
new names and new named skins for each individual 3d-model.
I will explain the reason why below.

I have dicovered that many vehicles contain the same files and names and sometimes this comes into
conflict with other vehicle models.
Why did the original creator of this game did this? -  I dont know why, but it
is BEST (in my viewpoint) to have an individual name for each of the 3d-models +files+skins. That way , they will NEVER come
into problems and conflicts with other 3d-models.
 I have tested this and This is the best solution for all vehicles. Trust me, I almost go crazy testing these things over and
over many times to get the best results and discover a fix to these problems.

So now ALL truck models have their own individual file names and skin names...
... BUT their technics.ini written entries on that file page will be the same  ;) -----maybe ONLY a few lines have
 to be changed---
for example , these lines... in dark lettering below. But it is very easy to do this in your game file.
My download contains all the needed new lines that need replacing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[OpelBlitz36S]
Description    Opel Blitz 36S
// Models
MeshSummer         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/summer/live.him
MeshSummerDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/summer/dead.sim
MeshWinter         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/winter/live.him
MeshWinterDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/winter/dead.sim
MeshDesert         3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/desert/live.him
MeshDesertDamage   3do/Cars/OpelBlitz36S/desert/dead.sim
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What this means is ,
that ALL your old missions already created and used ,
will continue using the same exact names for the truck+vehicles+tanks as before, but the 3d-model that will show up in
 the game is a totally new improved and upgraded version .  :)

I have left the names on the folders as they were before, AND as seen in many game versions up to now,
 this seems to work good for game versions 4.09, DBW-4.10 and game version 4.12 and VP-Modpack using the 4.12.

Give this a try and upgrade your game for the best.
I think you will like them and you will have less problems with these newer 3d-models in the future.

Good news for me and for the VP-Modpack  8)
I am happy to announce that I have now fixed all the problems with the Opel-Blitz Maultier series!
Its that classic Half-track truck from WW2.

Epervier has also been helping and all vehicles now have proper shadows and extras!

Also fixed and looking better is the Maultier Rocket launcher known as the Panzerwerfer.
This special rocket truck will need a brand new skin-template and some new skins to look much better now.

All will include a version for summer + Winter+ desert + Damaged version  ;)

I will soon post my recent upgrades so everyone can also use them in your VP-Modpack.
These are compatible with many other game versions.
These things make a BIG diference when you see them in the game looking much better this way.
This also gives ALL flying missions an added bonus of looking much better when these vehicles are used.

The Maultier truck-series pack should be finished in a few days this week.

I know this is a boring job and not so exciting as modding airplanes,
but someone has to do it ! So it is very important also.

I've found a install of VP Modpack on a external Hard drive. Is functional, but is there any way to find the version? Or what I miss? I mean IIRC I made that install short after VP released the mod, so I miss some stuff.

Or will be better to start from scratch?

Just install the two patches and youre pack is surely up-to-date.
Or you can look at the filedates on your pc and then look at the dates of the individual patch releases, listed in the first post.

Hi Max

The wheels are now displayed on the OpelBlitz36S when I use your New Opel Blitz retextures and I also discovered what the problem was!  :)
The wflyer wheels.tga is 512x515 or 256x258 and your wheels.tga is 512x512!
It seems as my video card and/or driver can't handle that strange texture size in OpenGL.

Thanks for your help solving this annoying issue!  :)

Best Regards

I am very happy that its working OK for you now, and for my game too. Everything is working smoothly and perfect (so far).

I have been discovering ALOT of little errors on those 3d-models, but with some fixes to the written lines on the files
and with proper sized skins, they will work much better now. - Please leave the names on the skins EXACTLY like you see.
You should ERASE and remove all the original skins and the files out of your game , when you use these new versions which
I am making available for download.
.  The original folder names are still the same , so your games will continue to use them without the
need to change anything else. Just the files for the 3d-model have been changed inside of those folders  ;)
DO NOT overwrite the new files over the old ones. These model versions have all now been
reworked from the ground up and should be 99% free of errors. Alot of testing has been done by me to make sure that
they work properly.

The reason you will see my files and skins all having new names on them is so that the 3d-model will NEVER come
into conflict and cause problems when the game reads them. Because many of the old files are named the same and the skins
were not in a proper size. I have found some weird stuff on those old models, that is reason why the game was not working to
its best ability.

Just to let you know, all skins for this game to work better in the game, should be in the sizes...

1024x1024
512x512
256x256
128x128
64x64
32x32

The big HD skins which are sized 2048x2048 also work good , but you need the special mod for HD skins installed in the game.

Hello RealDarko,
I am happy that it worked out good for you. I told you it was easy to install
the VP-Modpack.
You will find alot of goodies inside and many upgrades for everything, so it is a step forward
from the game version 4.10 that you were using.
BUT
do Keep the 4.10 game (DBW-4.10) ! so you can use the DBW-1916 for flying
the WW1 airplanes, like I told you.   They need a special modification to make those old
engines work in that game version. They are not ready for the 4.12 game yet.

The VP-Modpack was put together to use the WW2 aircraft but you may be able to add
other aircraft too. As always, read the instructions on all mod-aircraft downloads when you
install them into your game.

Max, you are a kickass artist and I love all your repaints.  ;) :)

Thanks Tom, I am trying.

Get yourself some New vehicle upgrades for your VP-Modpack  (and ALL other game versions) . . .

Just to let you all know that I'm enjoying this very much,especially with all the new planes and maps.The only thing I miss is the regular QMB with it's ability to handle 32 aircraft on each side.So the question is,can I use the regular QMB?Is there a way I can access it?Thanks!
