hi everybody,
in my VP Modpack installation I've noticed two strange issue affecting the sea/coast and the smoke shadows (as highlighted in the attached image). Is maybe due to some wrong conf.ini settings?

Thanks

Try deactivating #SAS\COCKPIT_DBW\3do\Cockpit\P-47D-10, you'll loose the improved textures but the artificial horizon will work again. Those cockpits were extracted from 4.10 DBW, many had problems, I managed to fix some of it but unfortunately you can still run into small issues.

Did as suggested. Old textures pale in comparison. Horizon intact, but new textures are so much better. I'll deal with it! ;)

Can you run the game in OpenGL (Perfect mode)? I think it would fix these issues.

Hi VP,
I'm running the game in OpenGL but not in Perfect Mode, because it cause an FPS drop.
Anyway I'll try, just to check.

Thanks

The water on your screenshot is DirectX mode, flat, no weather dependant waves or reflections.

I'll check also that, but I'm quite sure the game is in OpenGL mode.

A few days ago someone asked for suggestions on how to set up their conf.ini with some good settings
here - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,52875.msg575468.html#new

I have posted my personal game settings as was also recommended to me by VPmedia many years ago and
it works really good for the VP-Modpack , and also on my old game version DBW-4.10 (with DBW-1916).
You could give this a try and see if it works for you. Just a suggestion.

As for setting up your graphics card, that is important too, but a totally different thing because
everyone has different graphics programs. Just set that up so you will see no jagged edges on
the airplanes wings and you are able to see thin and smooth antenna wires on aircraft like
the Me-109 or Fw-190 or on some biplanes. Once you see perfect looking wires and no jagged edges,
then your game is really perfect for a visual experience using the Il2-1946+Mods.
 Good luck and happy flying!

Will there be some of the newer ships added to the VP Modpack. If not, will there be future changes to the ini's that will wipe out any ships that I add manually??? I'd hate to do all that work and then have it wiped out in one ini change.

To quote one of my previous posts from two months ago: 'I do not plan to add more mods which would require changes in the air/stationary/chiefs/technics.ini files, in order to not cause problems for those people who already added a bunch of extra mods on top of the base pack.'

I didnt add anything which would mess with peoples installs in the last six patches, except static.ini entries but those were listed for manual updaters.

--> vpmedia: Many thanks for your hard work. I reported your work in my IL2 Database ("Le livre Dore") Could you check that nothing is missing? (updates = patches 1 to 10 correct?) Cheers
LE LIVRE DORE choose VP ModPack in the left column

Hi Max,
thanks for the hint. I will try a.s.a.p. your settings.

Regarding my my graphic card: it was a real bloodbath setting it up, but now it works quite well, despite it's a 10 y.o. Nvidia card...

Bye, thanks again

Try it and see what happens.

I use a Nvidia GeForce GT550Ti  which is about 15 years old, but works perfect for this game  ;)
Good luck and have fun with it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now here is my final tip for installing the Claymore Fw-190 + Ta-152 series airplanes into the VP-Modpack.
I have been getting alot of PM requests and I dont have so much time these days for explaining the way I
installed this into the VP-Modpack.
I got alot of skins to paint !
So go here and READ EVERYTHING.
Always Read the instructions to ANY mod you install into your game ! It will work great if you follow the instructions.
How to install Claymore-Mod Fw-190 pack into VP-Modpack
------------------ https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=52944.msg575956#msg575956
MAKE A COPY of ALL of your files inside the STD folder from VP-Modpack FIRST !
and place it outside of your game if things go wrong !
Good luck and have fun.
