People usually duplicate their entire game folder and install other modpacks/mod activator there.

So,
took a LONG time but d/l ALL files, and they seem to be intact..fingers crossed....
I will later today take my 'cherry Il2 4.12.2m' installed on my 'F' drive with no-mods
and copy it, and install the Vp-modpack over it, and Voila?   :P
Will check back later, thanks for your responses!  :)

Well!

I did manage to get the game to kick in on the first try! First let me say this, Impressive!! Looks like a top notch job! Well done!  ;D :)
This is the way Il2 (IMHO) SHOULD have been from day one of its release!, or am I being demanding, or unrealistic?

Now, having said that, let me mention two errors that I saw right 'off the bat.' Immediately in the game I saw "no QMB"!!??  o_O
I believe that I know how to fix that, but I also saw a significant graphical error in the cockpit of the B239 in a Finnish single mission
that I flew. The error looks like a light gray plastic sheet that starts about the last lower quarter of the gun-sight and stretch's out about
a foot(?) beyond the cockpit framing.
It looks to be about a foot high. It seems to be an extension of the forward cockpit framing? Looks strange...
Other then that nothing untoward, at least not yet, as I only flew two single missions, one with the Fw190A and the Finnish Buffalo.

I'll look through the forum for further tips, and fixes and patches...

GOOD JOB VP!!   :o 8)

Hey VPmedia,

All is running good for the most part, however there is one mod that works in ALL of my other Il2 installs
but does not work in this version of Il2. This mod, AircraftHotKeys_LevelStabiliser_4.12.2m doesn't
engage at all. I have it working in three other installs of Il2, with this command, shift+L.
Here however there is a null response? This was one of the first mods that I added to the SAS folder, because to
me, the level stabliliser is a critical mod!
Plus I found several warnings in my log file..
'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Water2
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Rudder2
7098WARNING: To many faces 2952 or Vertexes (A LOT of these!)
WARNING: TRenderManager::TriangleList_ProjectiveShadow()- internal buffer overflow.
Too many vertexes or faces per shadow hier mesh!
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Revi16Tinter'

WARNING: ****( Unexpected txr reload (tfMipmap): '3DO/Plane/ME-410-B/teleskope1o.tga'
Flight Model File FlightModels/Me-410B.fmd contains no Mach Drag Parameters.
Flight Model File FlightModels/Bf-110G-4.fmd contains no Mach Drag Parameters.

Yet for all these 'errors', the sim runs just fine(?), I think... o_O
Any ideas, anyone?
I will d/l some skins next, or do I need those extra skins? I already have a TON of skins that I've saved
over the past 5 years or so..
Thanks guys!

QMB - needs patch1.
B-239 and 'Too many vertexes or faces per shadow' error - sounds like OpenGL is required.
Stabs mod - load it as a first mod and use classcheck.exe to discover classfile conflicts.

Hi Vpmedia,

The game is running well, except for a few errors that I've seen. One error is a BIG one, namely
the Fw190A4's in the game have the STOCK cowling from when the game was first released! Yow!!   :( o_O
That is a ugly stock cowl!  :D
Needs repair, or a patch...I thought that there was a Fw190 cowling mod years back?

Barnesy's P51's cause the game to slow way down, about 5fps? This is especially true on take-off when
the game jumps around at about one frame per second when you try to pan with your mouse.....
When you get away from the ground then the P51 runs smooth..BTW I'm running under openGl, at least that
is what I see under video modes in the game. Also I have been dinking around with my video card settings
as well as I can, making sure then everything is optimized.

Need an opinion, I am debating whether or not to install Claymores Fw190 pack in the game. That would
work, right?
I have used the Fw190 pack before, but it did present several difficulties in installing, and tweaking for
various errors. I have it installed in my Cup version of Il2, but I think it's needed in this install also....

I'm still poking around in the game, so who knows what I'll find in future? But the BIG error to me, is that
Fw190A4 stock cowling..yee!!  o_O
Thanks!

An easy solution: open the "#SAS\#00_3Dfix Cowlings Engines props 4.12\3do\plane" folder, find the "Fw-190A-5(Beta)" folder, duplicate it and rename this duplicated folder "Fw-190A-4(Beta)".

What is the difference between the "Channel" and "G Channel" maps?

Also, could someone please refresh my memory as to who made the "Channel" and "Cross Channel" maps?

I (fuzzily) remember from many years ago that CanonUK had one, and the 352 FG was working on another. Are these maps from them?

Just wondering if there are any user made campaigns that will work with this modpack.

It is up to your decision if you want to install it.
My install is working very nice in the VP-modpack.

Just wondering if there are any user made campaigns that will work with this modpack.

Any campaign made for a 4.12 game version should work ok with this modpack.
Some older game versions also work ok.
You will have to test them out.
Look in the Campaigns section. There are tons of them in here and at M4T website.
