Would there be interest for a bigger variety of music in the radio-stations? I can dig up a bunch of period-appropriate recordings from central Europe so that the Hungarian Radio doesn't speak German while playing American swing for example. Or we could have Radio Bucharest or Belgrade or some such.
Or maybe some Vera Lynn and such for the BBC, Django Reinhardt for Radio Paris (not that there's much wrong with the current selection of music but still)?

Your Mod is as official as it gets once you post it in the sounds section!
You don't need BAT Team's approval or green light!

OK understood - so, do you have a preference how to do it then? I mean, i know the sound files need to be in a particular format, i can do that; also equalize the volume etc. But is there a file naming convention that you've been following in BAT (i see some files are prefixed AR_ AS_ BA_ BB_ and so on)? Do we replace the existing files or just add to them? Is there a naming convention for adding new folders ("radio stations")?

In short - how do i make this as easy as possible for you to integrate into BAT rather than give you a headache?

OK so i took a dive into the Java classes last night and i think i understand what needs be done to add new radio-stations. There are still some things that are a bit confusing (this is my first attempt at modding Java in Il-2) but all in all it doesn't look too complicated to clone the existing radio-station objects and modify them into new ones. Stay tuned for further updates!

On the other hand, replacing / updating / extending selections of the music files in existing radio-stations is very straightforward. It's more of a matter of making a decision what to do with the already existing stuff (i don't want to crap onto anybody else's work) - so if anybody has an idea how to handle this, i'm listening.
(mainly what i'm concerned about here is to have all radio-stations "speaking" correct languages - right now Hungarians "speak" German - and give them music with more national flavor rather than generic 1940's American jazz and swing; not that there's anything wrong with Glenn Miller )
