I hope you are all well.

A range of new and updated objects for mission makers.


More details and installation instructions for BAT 3.8.5 or 4.12 with ModAct5.3 can be found in a .pdf guide in the ! ZOK_Common folder.

Six single sample missions to showcase these objects also included (for BAT 3.8.5 or stock 4.12 with ModAct5.3).

As with any work in progress there are bound to be issues, so Logfiles please.

just installed it into my custom WAW based module and your first sample mission works like a charm...
great work and thanks a lot for finally getting something like an LSO into the carrier world....
but how can I integrate your LSO into a "normal" carrier landing training mission? I am a complete noob when it comes to mission building;
is it enough to place the stationary ships object landing thingie anywhere on the map?

KT503, vonofterdingen, raf1659, erafitti, enry711 and Griffon_301 thank you for the kind words and postive feedback, very much appreciated.

Griffon_301 as you suggested, you just need to place the LSO [Landing Assistance (carriers or arrestor traps)] mission object within 300km of the carrier (or arrestor trap) and player aircraft. The LSO mission object will then provide feedback and information to you on your approach.

and confirm, it works just great! just came home from work and tried one of my carrier training missions with the added LSO object - works like a charme here on my end!

just one question though: if there are multiple carriers in the mission, the LSO info is shown for all of them I presume, depending on which you are approaching?
if they are running side by side, it is guesstimate again which LSO message belongs to which carrier - would it be possible to have the messages identified with the carrier prefix?
for example: USSLexingtonCV2: [---------
                   USSRangerCV4 [------

I guess you get the idea...

Mission_bug, as always, thank you for your positive comments, very much appreciated.

Griffon_301 thank you for your mission object testing. If there are two carriers in the area, the player will get LSO approach directions for the nearest carrier to them. Players only receive feedback when they are approaching the stern of the boat (within 10km) and lined up + or -30 degrees to the deck. I will investigate the possibility of implementing your excellent suggestion of carrier identification in the LSO chatter.

For carrier buffs like me, this new LSO object is the best thing since carriers got crews on the deck :)
