Quote
LONDON CITY AIRPORT NOISE AND TRACK KEEPING SYSTEM

Restricted aircraft

Only aircraft operators who are able to demonstrate that their aircraft can operate within strict allowable limits can use London City Airport. This includes noise, weight and other performance restrictions. In order to understand this prior to any scheduled or general movements being permissible noise trials must be conducted at the Airport. The noise results of said trials (generated by the airport’s noise and track keeping system) are documented and provided to the local authority for approval. Once approved the aircraft is then allowed to operate on this basis.

Helicopters and other vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, and aircraft with a single engine, are prohibited and flying for club or leisure purposes is not permitted.

Here is the last pic in the series that was taken shortly after he landed......

Truth being told, one of my personalities smashed at a crack in the room-space-continuum which suddenly appeared right in the center of the tower bridge.
The Flightsim devs have a strange kind of humor: The fact that it's prohibited to fly through the Tower Bridge is represented by planes colliding with void when attempting to do so.
In that regard, the picture with me being right in front of the Tower Bridge has been taken few milliseconds before I met my maker.
The City Airport pictures and the MS Belfast one have been from the 2nd set.
Oh and dare I say:
When I landed at EGLC, there were two A380 departing. In formation. Which to be honest is strange in every regard, as there is no (flyable) A380 in FS 2020.

All looks great Mike, however, I am puzzled about the add on packs, I thought 2020 generated everything real time such as weather, scenery and buildings so dispensed with the need for 3d and texture add on packages, did I miss something?

Sorry, I have not followed development as closely as some of you, merely taking in the odd thread post here and there. :-[

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hi Pete,

You got that right, landscape will be streamed in real time - and can be cached locally - mainly based on satellite images, with quite a bit artificial intelligence to make it look right on top:

(Go forward to 2:10 in order to get right to the AI landscape building explanations)

Add to that, there are 341 "photorealistic" cities where substantial parts have been modelled in 3D from real pictures:
https://se7en.ws/all-341-photorealistic-cities-in-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/?lang=en

Furthermore, all major airports contain buildings made "from scratch" to represent the airports well.
So in total, even without any addon packs, you get a fairly well modelled world that looks cool, from distance at least.
For instance when I fly over my own house, the whole street and building arrangement is fine.
Nevertheless, they didn't always get the stories right and the rooftops are sometimes off, but that really doesn't matter when we're talking about the effect that you get when flying over an area that you actually know. It simply looks "right" from above and that's what counts.

The addons I've mentioned simply add further detail "on top", handcrafted instead of generated from satellite images.
EGLC London City Airport adds Physically Based Rendering representation of London City Airport and surrounds plus a bit more.
Landmarks London City Pack adds hundreds of iconic buildings and landmarks in PBR representation, basically objects not included in FS 2020's default PBR set.
Nevertheless, even without these addons London looks great and of course you can fly from/to EGLC without them too, it's just that the addons add even more handcrafted detail on top where blackshark's AI generated landscape comes too short when you're frequently flying there.

Are you using a Logitec X52 pro HOTAS joystick with 2020
I'm thinking of getting one for use with 2020,BOS and 1946.
but it seems some have had problems with 2020

Yes I do.
The X52 had issues with the initial 2020 release, but the first patch solved the issues completely.
Works a treat now.

Thank you very much for the clarification Mike, really appreciated. 8)

The video you link I think I have actually seen before and I can remember thinking just what a awesome sight that scenery generation was and was curious as to why you would need those packs thinking back to what I vaguely remembered was some kind of promo for FS 2020, now I understand. ;)

I have the old FSX and the issue for me with that is the scenery looked so bad and none distinct that using the various scenery packs would be the only way to get things to look good, however, the cost was what put me off, at least five packs of just landscape were needed for the UK alone and we are a very small chunk of earth to what is covered in total in FSX. :o

You always wonder just how good the promo stuff is, thankfully you are happy with what you have seen so far of where you live so it looks like it lives up to the hype. 8)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

No issue with FS 2020 anymore.

This is a quick flight to the north of hamburg, blackshark AI generated scenery.
This is my office:

Same thing a few minutes later, after sunrise:

This is where I'm living. The building types are almost right, their locations are spot on.
This is absolutely what it's looking like here.

A friends home. The lake nearby, the streets... spot on.

A colleague's home. Again: Streets, village layout: Perfect. House types: 50/50.

I've then tried to proceed to a small airfield in the north: Hartenholm.
Almost spot on.
You even get ground crew giving correct signals to you for taxiing to the parking place and shutting off your engine. And the path cleared through the forest right in front of the runway is spot on, too.

Thanks for the images Mike, looks truly amazing from the images so would look more so on your own screen while flying. 8)

Looks like the way ahead, F.S. was always considered top drawer as far as the reality of systems, now it has the graphics to match, awesome. ;)

Take care and be safe.

I started a world around trip from Norway, Landed iun Shet land flew over to Scot land and  then crossed over to west side, just for discovering I passed Loch Ness by a mile. Discovered I had a little daylight left I Went back to Fort Augusta Airfield and leased a Icon for Nessie spotting. Landed in Ingress with nothing to report
