I asked because I don't need to use the screen to check the names of the files in relation with DCG but to verify the type of the file there to check the correct installation of DCG in relation with default vanilla DGen ones....

Adding a DCG campaign only adds three lines to DGEN folder per each entry in campaign selection window in IL2:

squadronsXXy.dat
planesXXy.dat
squadronsXXy.dat

where

XX = country (eg DE = Germany, FI = Finland, GB = Great Britain, RN= Royal Navy, US = USAAF, UN = US Navy etc.)
y = individual marker which combines the three files together



I have a small doubt....

In this campaign you created a .rds system to allow both sides to got their victory conditions , for red side the capture of Seville_Depot.

IIUC the path used by game engine is always: "Blue goes with the waypoint numbers while Red goes against the waypoint numbers"....

....BUT....

....in your .rds the roads between Fregenal to Seville_Depot is created at the opposite:

If you remember why the .rds was built this way , can you please teach me why?


To tell you the truth I didn't remember this rule when I created this campaign.  :-[

This may well be an error in my campaign, although I believe it is possible for ground units to go either way - this could be tested by creating a campaign with only two .rds locations each side and check how the land unit(s) move and behave.

I usually treat land units as bombing & strafing targets only and control possession of locations by timetable commands rather than using dynamic front. Also, I sometimes set a goal impossible to reach for one side to end up in historically correct situation. 

In other words: I give very little attention to ground war.  I use .rds (and .rls (railroads) and .srd (sea routes)) files mostly just to give names to locations and to set airfields and targets for ground attacks. There may be (and probaly is) oddities when it comes to how dynamic front works in my campaigns.

Well spotted! I try to remember make the  route directions correctly in my future campaigns  ;)

I also plan to use much more a timetable on situation....

I have done some check while using your campaign and got some very useful knowledge return...more doubt too....

I have to try a few things over....mainly how objects attract bombers even if Depot locations are left without them....

I think that in the next future I'll bother you again with your other SCW campaign!
