August 1936

Download Mediafire: https://www.mediafire.com/file/bzgtvkftxnfu75c/Extremadura.rar/file
Download M4T: https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=2876

The battle of Extremadura (August 2–14, 1936) was one of the first battles of the Spanish Civil War.
Spanish Nationalist forces had just received support from Germany and Italy. Large bombers and modern fighters from  Legion Condor and Aviazione Legionaria attacked Republican troops defended by a small number of old aircraft.

You can fly this campaign as:

Aviazione Legionaria (Regia Aeronautica) pilot:

Fiat CR.32 or Savoia-Marchetti S.M.81 Pipistrello

Legion Condor (Luftwaffe) pilot:

Heinkel He-51 or Junkers Ju-52 Bomber

Fuerzas Aéreas de la República Española (the Netherlands) pilot:

Nieuport-Delage NiD 52 or Bréguet 19

Requirements:

B.A.T. v3.8.5 or later
DCG 3.50 beta  https://forum.jg1.org/forum/68-dcg-announcements/

Installation:

Decompress the Extremadura.rar into your DCG home directory.
Make a backup of the DGEN directory in you IL-2 game directory
Make a backup of  DU Folder in IL-2 game directory/Missions/Campaign
Copy Dgen, Missions & Paintschemes folders from your Extremadura folder and paste them in your IL-2 game directory. Overwrite if prompted
Start DCG, select Optional Third Party Data Folder.
Navigate to the Extremadura folder and select allcampaigns.dcg
Select "Replace Career Generator (DGen)" in the DCG main screen.
Select Off Line Career (Full Auto-Generation Mode) in the DCG main screen.
Launch Il-2 and select one of the above-mentioned careers.

NOTE: This campaign changes your the Netherlands campaign folder to Republican Spain. So, if you wish to start a Republican Spain  you can find it under the Netherlands.

If you wish to restore the Netherlands, do so from your backup. If you forgot to back up the Netherlands, copy contents from Restore the Netherlands folder in your Extremadura and paste them in your IL-2 game directory. Overwrite if prompted.

Fantastic!  We need more TGA campaigns and this is a fine representation of the period.

Hi!

I was looking at this campaign while I working on mine and discover that I have a small issues that I can't find the reason in DCG forum....

In planes.dat the choice for German one is correct but for Italian and Dutch it have some difference....for example starting an Italian campaign , according to planesITE.dat file I should have the choice between:

[Extremadura]
CR_32quater
SM81GR

But in game I have this wider range:

I have checked the class.dat file and the entries in air.ini correspond correctly with the 2 intended planes....

....what could be cause of this glitch?

Thanks in advance for your help!

In his campaigns you have always had the option to fly for several squadrons and choose different planes. Its not a glitch.

Yes and not....in my case not....

When creating a campaign you have to build data files....these should specifiy (other than the campaign name) the type of planes available for the player and a range of units to which they belong....to give players the correct aircraft choice....

Usually the order of choice is linked between the 2 data files....1st plane with first listed unit....2nd plane with second listed unit and so on....

This way you doesn't alter the type balance....for example using a fighter in a unit for which the campaig creator have planned bombers....

I'm trying to understand why , after checking the files code between air.ini , class.dat end planesITE.dat if there is a reason for haven't the creator intended options working....

First of all, apologies for not being present for a long time. Since early May I've been spending most of my time in our summer cottage away from my gaming computer  8)

Whiskey_Sierra_972, have you checked that planesITE.dat in your [IL-2 game]/Dgen folder is the file from this package and not another file with the same file (from another campaign)? In other words, did you overwrite files when copied from this package and did not install another campaign after installing this one overwriting files?

If you didn't I have no idea what may have caused this.

In either case, reinstall the campaign. If the problem persists, let me know.

Thanks Shakaali for your reply!

You have no need to apologize because RL has always the prority...moreover a summer cottage is a great place to stay and recover energy!

And above all you replied me quickly as I post this yesterday....

:)

Thanks for pointing me about the correct path to check for the planesITE.dat files to be....

....this solved me an old doubt about the correct installation of the DCG folders....

Code: [Select]
FROM 3.50 beta15:

Unzip to any folder on the same hard-drive as your IL-2 Sturmovik game with create folder options on. For simplicity sake, you might want to name the folder "IL2DCG".

When you run the program for the first time, you may be required to set a path to your IL-2 "Sturmovik" or IL-2 "Forgotten Battle" folder and to IL2DCG itself and optionally to a campaign folder.

The first path to set is to the IL2.EXE program (located in the game's "IL2 Sturmovik" or "IL2 Forgotten Battles" folder) or the IL2Server.exe (if you are using the dedicated server). This one must always be set or DCG will give you an "Invalid File Name" error. If you receive this error, exit and restart DCG and select the correct path to your game folder.

You might also want to configure DCG using the "Wizard" under "Run" in the menu.  And if DCG doesn't appear to be recognizing your game version, you can set the game version under "File" and "Set Game Version".

If you want to fly a specific DCG campaign, you can click on the "folder" icon. Set the path to one of these folders by selecting the squadrons.dcg file in that folder. Depending on your selection and the mode you chose, DCG will select the appropriate folder to write the missions to. You may activate an old campaign by selecting (in the DCG menu under "Files") "Select DCG Campaign Folder" or you can start by creating a new campaign (under the DCG "Run" menu or by clicking on the "world" icon).

Note: if for any reason, these paths need to be revised, you reselect them through the "File" Menu.

Seem that the GAME MAIN FOLDER/DGen is not mentioned for the installation of the data needed to generate the 'default'....'no third party' campaigns....nor how to manage the DATA and MASTER folders in the 3.50 archive....

Now adding the 3 'ITE' files in DGen folder I got the correct functioning....

To check for other possible errors , can I ask , please , to send me a screenshoot of your game DGen folder for DCG usage?

So I can compare what I have with that I should have....

Did you read the installation directions (especially the red line) in the first post:

That would not help you, as the Dgen folder changes every time you install a new third-party dynamic campaign - DCG or DGEN.  Always copy Dgen folder from third-party campaign folder to main game folder and overwrite before starting a campaign to avoid errors.

Yes but since I have installed DCG in 'SAS MAIN ROOT/IL2_DCG' I have added DGEN folder there....not used MISSION because I planned to not play for Republican but only for German and Italian....paintschemes was installed correctly....

I asked because I don't need to use the screen to check the names of the files in relation with DCG but to verify the type of the file there to check the correct installation of DCG in relation with default vanilla DGen ones....

BTW these are my DCG config paths:

E:\BAT_424\IL2_DCG\
E:\BAT_424\missions\campaign\de\DGen_E_Extremaduradoe0\
E:\BAT_424\

What are yours?

Hi!
Sorry to bother but I have to continue the study about DCG and developed campaign to complete the development of my one about the Siege of Malta....and actually your campaign/s are the textbooks I'm studying....

I have a small doubt....

In this campaign you created a .rds system to allow both sides to got their victory conditions , for red side the capture of Seville_Depot.

IIUC the path used by game engine is always: "Blue goes with the waypoint numbers while Red goes against the waypoint numbers"....

....BUT....

....in your .rds the roads between Fregenal to Seville_Depot is created at the opposite:

[Fregenal to Aracena] ==== Fregenal is also the Frontline location
[Aracena to Higuera]
[Higuera to El_Garrobo]
[El_Garrobo to Santiponce]
[Santiponce to Sevilla_Depot]

Since Fregenal is the frontline (which is contested at the start of the campaign) , if red got more points from first day and conquest Fregenal , the next day the location of Aracena should be contested BUT red units could move only from Aracena to Fregenal (against waypoints because wp1 is at Fregenal and wp1+x is at Aracena ).....at the opposite if blue advance they can go from Fegenal to Zafra because they could move with the waypoints but no unit spawning at DeHome=Sevilla_Depot because to reach the next location [Santiponce] they have to move not with the waypoint of the track [Sevilla_Depot to Santiponce] but find the opposite direction [Santiponce to Sevilla_Depot]....

In the other parts of the .rds the path from red base [Badajoz_Depot] to frontline [Fregenal] is as should be in DCG logic (red against waypoints)

[Fregenal to Zafra]
[Zafra to Santa_Marta]
[Santa_Marta to Almendralejo]
[Almendralejo to Merida_Depot]
[Merida_Depot to Badajoz_Airfield]
[Badajoz_Airfield to Badajoz_Depot]

So the red vehicles spawning at the base run against waypoint from Badajoz_Depot to Badajoz_Airfield to Merida_Depot to Almendralejo to Santa_Marta to Zafra to Fregenal.

At this location the route is the unclear situation to me because , to reach contested area red should goes AGAINST waypoints to Aracena in the route [Aracena to Fregenal] but the route is [Fregenal to Aracena]....

If you remember why the .rds was built this way , can you please teach me why?

Also the matter because the allcampaign DeBase=Tablada_Airfield and the DeHome=Sevilla_Depot are connected with the .rds track [Tablada_Airfield to Sevilla_Depot] and not with a track like the one between the other airfield and DeBase which is [Sevilla_Depot to San_Pablo_Airfield]

I hope to have been clear!

Thanks in advance for your help!
