Current controls

Hi, another question on controls; where are these stored? Is it in Users\default or Users\doe\settings?

They're located on the main menu. Go to ''Controls'' and all the pieces should be there. 8)

There is a better description in here somewhere - but in brief - the standard setup is the default.ini file and what you personalise when you make you Pilot is stored as the Users\doe\setting.ini file (using your example).

You can then take that further if you want all to create other pilots without the whole setup process.
Copying the controls info in the settings file (everything between [Hotkey pilot] and [Difficulty]  and pasting it over the same info in the default.ini

Please make a backup of Users first.

Hope this clear.

I do sometimes manually edit the settings file. Unless I have it wrong, there seems to be no way to delete an entry in the controls screen, only swap one key option for another.

So, for example, when I am flying in DOF, I delete all trim and autopilot keys (IRL they did not have them). So far as I can tell the only way to delete an existing control key is to delete it in the settings file via notepad.

If you fly in DOF then WAW and finally "Jet"... create 3 different pilots... you will have less problems...

That's what I do, epervier. Actually four, because I have a second DOF pilot settings for the Gnome engines (no throttle, but 4 keys set for different engine power levels - pretty much what they did in the real Gnomes - switches to change the piston firing order):

Thanks for all the support guys, I was making a new HOTAS configuration and found that I had some wrong entries between default and settings. Now everything is completely clear. For the moment that is  :D

Do you have expierience with deleting entries in 'default' or 'settings' ? I mean with a HOTAS control there's little use for all the entries too adjust the engine power with the number keys of the ketboard and use these number keys for other functions.
