Anyone of you managed to install HSFX and BAT on a unique 4.12.2, chosing the mod to use by IL2 selector? Thx

I tried to install BAT. I realized that this is impossible. I have been sitting at the computer for three days with this task. I've already tried everything I found here, in steam and on YouTube. Nobody helps.

It is quite easy to have HSFX together with BAT as you will need just to have the HSFX sfs files in the main game folder (or in a dedicated folder if you prefere)  and then point the HSFX .rc to the location of these sfs to be loaded. You can install HSFX personalized files in a MOD folder and JSGME mods will be pointed towards the MODS and Files folders.  The selector will do the rest.

Mixed installs were very popular few years back when the selector and PAL modder came out.  I still have a Multi install with DBW171 (plus 1916 and SCW), UP3Rc4, SAS MODACT and HSFX.

For sure you will save some disk space as you will have shared DGEN, Mission and Paint Scheme folders, together with the basic game sfs, however that's about it .

The drawbacks is that you need to be very careful with the management of  campaigns as DGEN becomes nearly unusable (different tweaks for each version of game and different backups that you need to manage) and QMB need to be constantly reset (I use the 109E4 as first plane in the air.ini) with nevitable frozen games and need for restart.

The JSGME folders also becomes more complex and same mods will have to be multiplied as they will go in different folders depending on the session that you have selected. More you will need constant monitoring on what you enable and where.

Briefly with multi install you considerably increase the opportunity for screwups

So considering that disk space is not a big deal these days and that with less than 100 bucks you can get 1T external or internal SSD for me is better to keep installs separated

The whole thing can be called hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids and BAT do not give you any pleasure, but  need very strong  "shake your ass". You really don't want to do it , but you have no choice.

If I asked you "my refrigerator is broken, how do I fix it?" you wouldn't be able to answer me, because you wouldn't know what part of it is broken. For someone to be able to help you solve a problem, you must tell them what the specific problem is; describe it in as much detail as you reasonably can.

If you're looking for help installing BAT, you should start a new thread in the BAT Tech Help section with information like:
- What you started with:
    - Where on your computer the game is (file directory)
    - What version of the game you have
    - Any other mods already installed if any
- What you did
    - Where you put each file you downloaded
    - What exactly did you put in each text box when you ran an installer
    etc, whatever else you tried
- What happened when you did each thing you did

Here's what actually happened to me about 40 years ago. A hydraulic hose burst and the union nut on that hose hit my thigh - ouch.

I said to the doctor what happened to my leg, when I press here it hurts terribly.

If you truly fail at this 2-step process, then you should think of selling your computer.

Install BAT 4.0

Place the zips and the installer in the same location and run the installer. Point it to your IL-2 folder.

Warning! The installer will delete the folders below and replace them with new content:
#DOF3, #TGA3, #WAW3, #JTW3, #DOF2, #TGA2, #WAW2, #JTW2,
BAT00, BAT01, BAT01B, BAT02, BAT02B, BAT03, BAT03B, BAT04, BAT04B

If the installation is successful you can launch BAT from the IL-2 Selector.

I'm not very good at english so it's hard for me to write.

On this page provides installation steps, I follow the instructions. The game doesn't work. I'm looking for info on youtube and steam. Still the game doesn't work. After three days I find another mod. Reading the installation instructions, downloading the files, installing, and everything works. Better graphics, more planes, more missions.

So now I thinking, did i really need this pain in the ass (hemorrhoids)*? In one case, everything is elementary. Otherwise you must  "dance around the fire with a drum".

I will search for more information and try to install again later, but it must be admitted that this mod is not friendly.

Download a few files and click on an exe is too complicated? Then of course, the mod is at fault and totally unfriendly. Sure, sure.
You seem unfit for duty.

1. I'm not the only one who had problems installing this mod and you know that very well.

2. I don't need your advice  what I have to sell and what file I need to run.

3. Don't wait for another Christmas. Go to the store yourself and buy rope and soap.
