MSFS 2020 Graphics Settings
« on: October 18, 2020, 08:01:26 AM »

Hi chaps,

Just in case you're an MSFS 2020 addict like myself:
It can be quite time consuming to get the graphic settings optimized for your particular hardware setup.
I've tested all available settings in depth forth and back for a couple of days and finally managed to come up with a setup which works best in my case, meaning it gives almost perfect visual quality (¹) at reasonable good FPS (²) with minimum stuttering (³).
For reference, this is my hardware Setup:

CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K @4.8 GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM (another 32 GB have been ordered - you will want to have at least 32 GB!), game is installed on 1TB SSD
GPU: ASUS Nvidia 2080 Super, 8GB
Monitor: Acer XB271HU, 2560x1440p, 144Hz G-SYNC

¹: You can run the game in "Ultra" Preset Mode all over, if you use 1080p resolution max. Anything above that (1440p or 4K for instance), no current hardware can give good FPS at Ultra settings.
²: Reasonable good FPS for MSFS 2020 are in the range of 30-60 FPS. My settings result in 45-60 FPS in all possible situations, including crowded cities with payware addon textures and buildings.
³: You can't get MSFS 2020 completely stutter-free. That's because of the gigantic amount of textures being used to the scenery. Deal with it.

Ingame Settings:

Nvidia Control Panel:

Hope that helps a bit.

I got a slightly better CPU but a 1090 TI with 32 G ram
My screen is just a 27 " 1920 x 1080 My earlier VR ambitions made me not invest in a better. Still not sure what  to do
But still it looks awesome. I will take a look.
I will buy the new jet trainer asap ( when it show up in markedplace, I really miss something vintage. A two engined old style transporter of good quality. If we get that I probably fly much more.

I'm quite sure that community mods will pop up in quick succession pretty soon, especially since carrying over old FSX stuff doesn't seem too big of a deal.
Of course the quality of such planes falls a bit short of native MSFS 2020 ones, but for freeware mods I'd gladly accept that.
So there's hope for your transport twins ;)
A 1080Ti at 1080p should almost be good enough for the Ultra preset IMHO.

Concerning the MB.339, I just grabbed it straight from the store (https://secure.simmarket.com/indiafoxtecho-mb-339-msfs.phtml), no need to wait for it to pop up in the "official" store.
