Breguet 521 Bizerte
« on: October 27, 2020, 02:30:00 AM »

Developed in accordance with the same French Navy requirement as the Loire 70, the Breguet 521 Bizerte went to become a legend of its time. Based upon a civil aircraft, the Breguet Siagon, itself a copy of the Breguet-Shorts Calcutta, (in fact, the Br-521 has only its hull in common with the Calcutta), it was a sturdy, patrol aircraft, well defended. It served throughout ww2 and still after.  The 34 aircraft produced were operated by the French Aeronavale E2, E3, E1, E5 and E9 squadrons. Two of these squadrons kept operating these planes in the frame of Vichy Air Force. The Breguet Bizerte was so adap[ted to its task that the Germans, besides the captured aircraft bought from Vichy additional machines, operating up to 17 Breguet Bizerte. The last surviving Bizerte was scrapped in May 1946.

The model is based upon a model by Baldy for CFS2, much reworked.
What remains to be done:
1) The interior of the plane in external view deserves to be improved as the huge glasses of the nose allow a through view of it.
2) add the D1, D2 and CAP files in the hier.him
3) Correct the java of some of the cockpit instruments (oil gauges for sure and maybe others - please report so I can correct all of them at the same time)

The "Open Cockpit" command will open the gun positions hatches and move the gunners in position, as well as popping up the rear lateral position's machine guns.

You'll need my new French bomb pack for this plane

Air.ini addition:

Feel free to finalize and upgrade this plane where needed.
Enjoy

The plane has been tested in 4.122 modact 5.30, so will probably run smoothly also in BAT

... many THX for your constant dedication to French AC, weapons/ammo etc, and especially French seaplanes ...!  8)

Let's hope, some guys (I am thinking of IES Team + Epervier + Stanislao) will volunteer to finish them, especially since we now have French ships thanks to Ashes & Stanislao ...!  :P

great work! in lieu of own developed flying boats and to make up the low numbers of Dorniers and He-59s available, the Germans used these and some Loire 130s as ASR aircraft in WW2...

I forgot (I added it now in the 1st post):
The "Open Cockpit" command will open the gun positions hatches and move the gunners in position, as well as popping up the rear lateral position's machine guns.

... unfortunately, I am afraid all DreamK seaplanes are not for 4.09 (maybe 4.10 and 4.11 too) game versions ... :-X

Simply because the 4.12 code names seaplanes "TypeSeaPlane" whereas they are named "TypeSailPlane" in 4.09 (tip by Epervier) ...  :-[

So I get a very fast crash with this log:

[17:17:44]    Spawn.get( com.maddox.il2.objects.air.Bizerte ): com/maddox/il2/objects/air/TypeSeaPlane
[17:17:44]    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/maddox/il2/objects/air/TypeSeaPlane

... blessed be the one who will fix this ...  8)

... normally, the skin folder name is always the first name in the air.ini line ...  ;)

This is great, and very welcome. One thing that someone might be able to do is rearrange the props so that they are not rotating inside the contours of the engine cowling.
