Help....My X-55 Rhino throttle don't set power below 39%....
« on: October 30, 2020, 04:21:00 PM »

Hi!

I have discovered a strange issue with my X-55 throttle....when I start a mission with the levers full aft the power settings isn't 0 but 39%.....

I tried with it's software and by W10 recalibration tool....but with no success....also reinstalling drivers and software with the last version for 64 bit doesn't solve the issue.....

What can cause this issue?

It also have all the rotary control unable yo reach it's maximum value.....

Any help will be really appreciated!

Normally a recalibration should re-scale to a range of "0-100". I've found this to be the case over the years when my sticks, etc, have the potentiometers getting worn and flaky.

Now, I wonder if the potentiometer (or sensor) has somehow got partially rotated, or shifted, which might result in such a failure to expand the range after calibration? Are you able to open up the thing?

Thanks for the reply....I'll try some test before opening it....

I think to try on my laptop that haven't seen the throttle plugged in and see how it works....

The strange things is that all rotary controls don't reach their max/min value and stop while their lever or cursor is still moving.....like a sort of dead zone....

Hmmm. That OTHER controls exhibit this unresponsive zone thing leads me to wonder if there's a problem with analog to digital conversion. I.e., an electronics issue. If so, and restricted to the stick itself, warranty repair or new stick, methinks.

Tested on my laptop with no better results.....

Plugged and recognized but with all the rotary controllers and the 2 throttle with fault values.....

Throttle minimum power at 39%

Rotary controllers max value at 75%

Maybe I left it too months mothballed....

I'll give them a look from the inside but I have no 8dea what to search for....

I think no warranty.....too old purchase.....

Anyway I'll give a look at the inside in the next weeks as last resort if things goes worse....

Atm....39% of power don't give me too much trouble because was sufficiently low for landing....I stall by switch off the engine at the end of flare.....
