Cheers, danperin - these big bomber missions are a screenie-rich environment.  :)

Thanks Andy, a custom install of just the mods required to play these would improve framerates, the reason why I don't download those huge modpacks. I'm busy creating harbour and pier objects in blender for the 352nd map, so I must definitely set some time aside to try these missions. :)

That might be a good idea - years ago, I had a Soviet-themed custom install. I might make some space on my hard drive. I also spotted a 4.13 update of 'Boxcar' which  uses stock aircraft and flights made of vics of 3 rather than diamonds of 4. The first mission at least works in BAT.

What I'd eventually like to do is a fairly thorough history of the 8th Air Force (incorporating a bit of 9th), I'm figuring by the time I learn as I go, and fumble my way through missions over France and Holland, I'll gradually increase formation sizes and ranges into Germany. I'll probably get distracted by using just the right skins, overpopulating the map with airfield objects and targets of opportunity for returning escort fighters, and flak batteries lining the routes. Although once done, I can carry over those populated maps to the next missions. It's all dreams and schemes at the moment. For the time being, I'll add bits to existing work in the missions mentioned.  :)

Glad to be of service.  :)

Sounds like a great project.

Edit the missions for the option to fly as fighter escort as well.:)

object template missions are a great idea for copying and pasting scenery objects on specific maps. I'm in the process of creating a harbour object template for use in FMB user created missions, as I rework harbours in my current project. This will be released with the final product. Just ships for now though. I will add other objects if framerates are reasonable in test missions.

Just do it. ;D

Oh yes, I'll make sure the fighters get a look in.  :)

"Well, gentlemen, good news! As of right now, this is an operational squadron. No ammo? Ha! Ha! Ha! Let me show you a little trick Ivan taught me...follow me boys! The squadron adjutant will make sure your mothers get your medals!"

Default BAT contrails - with large formations, my framerates are hit hard...

Framerate friendly old style 2D contrails - I like how they start behind the aircraft, and that I can now fly my B-17s at authentic altitudes - the occaisional old-time il2 crossed sticks at the end of a trail a small price to pay...

I have no problem with the frame rate on my system, but if I don't use the old style contrails, I lose the textures of the glass and the effects are greatly reduced when there are large bomber formations at high altitude. It doesn't matter if I use effects = 0, 1 or 2.
I mean, the only way to have nice big bomber formations, is this.

By the way, I take the opportunity to tell you that your screenshots are amazing.
