I see MiniArt do a box of musical instruments, might pick one up. No balilaika, though. Might have to improvise.  :)

There is a rather large German vehicle in the stash  :o , I'm wondering whether to incorporate it as part of a Red Army diorama or just do it as a stand alone.

Well, there she is built. The tow cables supplied with the kit aren't up to much, so I had a Dragon wire and plastic one away from the spares box. A quick squirt with NATO green, then everything else will be done with a brush (well, weathering powders and Tamiya mud sticks will be involved). Build up, tone down, rinse and repeat. Yes, repetative, but I really enjoy this stage. The trick is knowing when to stop.

Might be a while until I update, work beckons yet again.

Base colour applied, initial shading, highlighting and filth. Squirted with Tamiya matt clear to fix weathering powders. Ready for first coat of Klear, decals and more filth. Going to glue those tracks to the top of the wheels further down the line...

I'm thinking it would make sense to continue this and future builds in the 'Plastix' section, editing and reverting this thread back to concentrating on screenies. Oh, yes - I got some stick time in today.  What say you, chaps?

I've had a busy day.  ;D

Well, there she is done. Chickened out of playing with mud texture, she's heading fo a city based diorama. Anyhoo, I don't think she scrubbed up too bad for an oldie - the tracks aren't too special, but I'm not laying out for an after market set for a cheap kit. The biggest pain in the arse was settling a decal over the observation slit on the right of the turret, careful cutting with a very sharp blade and plenty of Klear solved that problem. Mind you, selecting another decal option might have been easier. All in all, a quick, easy build, the old kit's certainly not in the 'avoid at all costs' category. At the end of the day, it looks like like a T-34/85 to me, which was the object of this particular excercise...

...as mooted above, I'll be putting my future builds in the 'Plastix' section and putting screenie-related stuff here. Got a ton of Soviet stuff in the stash, but the big German thingy looks like another easy build as I work myself up to readiness for the T-35. We'll see.  :)

G'day Andy

Looks great a job well done, perhaps a background like this would complete the job.

Thanks for kind words, chaps.  :)

That's a good idea, GenX - I'll start collecting landscapes and skyscapes for backgrounds.  ]thumright[

Meanwhile, I've started a modelling related thread in the 'Plastix' section. This thread can revert back to screenies.
