Or maybe a Me-609 heavy Fighter with two Fuselages.

It was Armed with 6. 30mm Mk-108 cannons.

The sim is at a point where most of the important aircraft of WWII are already in the game. But not all actual aircraft which saw active service in the conflict have been so honored. I feel that considerably more effort should be put into including the actual participants before we get to the what-ifs and never weres. But that's just my view. I fully sympathize with the mod maker's having fun with those "snazzy" prototypes, and those glamorous birds that never got past the sketch-on-a-napkin stage. But quite a few combat veteran aircraft are not yet a part of this magnificent sim, the Curtiss C-46 Commando, SBC Helldiver, and the Norduyn Norseman for example. Hardware, hell yes. Vaporware, if we've got time later. I say this fully cognizant of the fact that I don't have the faintest idea how all this is done, and that I have boundless gratitude for the work done by the many volunteer "magicians" who produce these wonders for our entertainment.

You entered the quicksand and I have to tell you to get out of it.

You understand that this is private people, doing what they want in their free time and eventually share, if they feel inclined to do so, for free.
This is not CD PROJEKT RED here.

The moment where you start telling people that their mod is unnecessary and they better get their asses to work on the real deal is where you overstep a line.

Ah, but who's this "we"? Does it include you or is this every modder out there supposed to adjust their output to please your desires?
Do you see how this comes across?  :)

But that's just my view.

:)  Yes, basically I understand the thought of Propnut ... even I would have a long list like Lent of planes that I wish I could fly in this Sim and never appeared .. every now and then I also break the balls to modders experienced in 3D programs for something which is beyond my abilities, but then I realize that the beauty is to launch the challenge but always with respect and gratitude for the immense work done and at our disposal and for the joys and fun that we all continue to feel !! So space for comments and thoughts! And the ones we don't share just ignore them .....     ;)

I think though as a finale from me is that these 2 fighters are VERY welcome and the idea behind their originality of being genuine prototypes coming to light for us to experience what they could do is amazing from 101tfs and others. Granted the 509 didn't get a physical prototype whereas the 309 did. Potentially with development as I always stick to in my view is given the chance of that they may have given the Lufwaffe a pair of fighters to compete with the P-51 and P-47, granted the Fw-190D-9 and Ta-152H were the answers to Messerschmitts equivalents in terms of testing but thankfully not many were built for our sakes but I still feel these 2 when I get the opportunity to fly them will do their job as they were intended to achieve in service.

Granted the Bf-109 did the justice for Messerschmitt but she got too old and suitably she should have been replaced by one of these if not both these evolutions of it's design.

Amen.
Any mod is welcome.
The moment we start thinking any different is the moment we could as well stop extending the contract with our hoster, as the site would have fulfilled it's purpose completely, sufficiently.
Seriously the moment you start considering one mod more important to work on than any other is the moment you're wrong.
Yes, these two birds are very welcome, period.

I expressed my personal opinion about the mods I would personally prefer. I plainly labelled it as my personal opinion. I did so respectfully, and did not IN ANY WAY denigrate the marvelous work being provided gratis by the many dedicated and talented people who subscribe, and who provide content to this site. In fact, if you bothered to actually read my post, I expressed my total admiration for their work. Then I got jumped on for doing something I DID NOT do. This was done by some of the honchos on the site. Perhaps there is a problem with reading comprehension with some here. I think that some might be a bit overly sensitive, and perceive criticism where there is none. Maybe it's just Covis fatigue. Whatever the reason, it unjustified. Perhaps I'm just overly sensitive. Perhaps clearly labelled non critical personal opinions are not welcome. Perhaps I should have just kept my mouth shut. From now on I will.

No worries propnut, my post was a general comment on the discussion which started after the post of yours. No offence intended.

Mick - I'm no expert on American aircraft, but I think there's a difference between the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver and Curtiss SBC Helldiver. :-|
