Yes. evolution with the skins is happening too. These are from art profiles and a model kit decal sheet. But apparently both are wrong on the tail flash. The norm was B/W/R at the time. Some planes retained the R/W/B flash from the French times for some time, but the SPAD is a total repaint years later. No reason not to paint the correct flash on it.

The Fokker was repainted from the start anyway and actually it can be seen in a B/W pic that it indeed is supposed to be B/W/R, when you can compare the grey tones with the stars and meatballs.

I also have  a couple USAAS marked S.E.5 skins from MaxThehitman. Even he got the tail wrong for a plane that still exists in a museum. It's easy to make that mistake I guess, since in France it was both versions in parallel being used.

But then, it was wild times. I feven ound a photo with backwards pointing stars on a SPAD ...  so take your best shot

It could be, the story is good enough.
But there is no suitable map for this setting. Spain, while being generally suitable with geographical and flair features, is much too green. We have no desert map that would be generic enough and not be too obviously middle eastern in flair.

Before everything went to complete shit, there was the Neutrality Patrol

In December 1939, the USS Long Island is posted on duty with the Asiatic Fleet

Straight outa Manila.

What did you do before there was shooting?

Scanning ships.

Or snooping out Japanese island bases

Or visit our friends in French Indochine...

Ooooo, a prequel to the ZRCV WWII campaign? I'm really looking forward to this! (Straight Down from an Airship is probably my favorite Il-2 1946 campaign ever made)

"I remember testing the XF5F against the XF4U on climb to the 10,000 foot level. I pulled away from the Corsair so fast I thought he was having engine trouble..."

"The F5F was a carrier pilot's dream, as opposite rotating propellers eliminated all torque and you had no large engine up front to look around to see the LSO... "

New skins, depicting the prototypes.
Revised FM. The Rocket goes 330+ knots now.
Revised gun positions (There's an actual picture of the 4-gun arrangment)
Revised gun loadout to reflect the 4x .50cal default
Counter rotating engines (thanks to Mike for the java assistance!)
