I had just made this skin on gimp but I of course would have to extort it to (bmp) and then save as on paint.net which usually works for me but for some weird reason the skin would not show, only the default is shown. Any advice?

I have this every time and I use GIMP. Try opening the newly exported .bmp in MS Paint and make a very small edit somewhere in the blank area of the skin and save it. Works for me!

To save go to File in the top right and click save and overwrite the skin.
