Desert and Sand Plates are concrete
« on: January 30, 2021, 06:18:10 PM »

The Desert Ground Plates (DesertGroundPlate) and Sand plates (Pac_SandPlate) are concrete in #JTW, possibly the others I haven't checked.
Just to put it on the radar to fix on the next patch.  Thank you.

This was done on purpose (and with other translucent plates as well) many years ago, 2017-ish, and is like this ever since.
The reason for this change was to have more "standard" airfields on unspecific maps appear with an era-typical concrete runway by default.

A similar thing was done the other way around in DOF, where concrete plates have been exchanged with see through visuals since in that era, grass fields were the norm.

Since this has been in operation for almost 4 years now, I don't feel inclined to change it.

Oh okay, my mistake.  I had put down a couple hundred desert and sand plates on the last patches.  I'll just... change them all to Brick Crumb Plate.  I really liked those variations in sand/desert I thought it gave airfields a lot of depth.  I understand wanting all the dirt/desert/sand/grass/ airfields wanting to be concrete in #JTW for jets.
