I used to work there. It was the local council's fallout shelter at the time - my office had iron bunk beds in it. We were considered expendable and expected to vacate if the worst happened.  ;D

Some background for you...

Good footage of the Nothe Fort -

Weymouth seafront. Not changed that much, although the beach and esplanade would be free of clutter - unless you count barbed wire.

Great job on a train simulator. This is fascinating to me, and very recognisable -

And don't forget my Gran's front door was corporation sky blue... :P

Wow! looking at a bit of the first vid, I can create some of the texture from captured stills of the fort. Thanks for these. :)

I'm looking at a Portland prison model as well, maybe. :)

edit : Love the music in the first vid as well.

I have this running in a loop currently. I have watched other performances of this piece and they are dreary by comparison. Spira Mirabilis rocks.

It would have been selfish of me not to share this. I hope that someone  in 'SAS' land  enjoys this as much as I do. ;D

I enjoyed the train simulator vid, very informative. It reminds me of this movie that I downloaded a few months back. It's a definite 'must watch' for railway enthusiasts and damn funny. ;D https://youtu.be/DzspLWK9FEc?t=1120

Given the limits of the simulator, he did a brilliant job - I regularly walk along the old line, and it was all very recognisable.

I'm a huge Keaton fan, too.  8)

I created my first tree sprite yesterday. Fort Pit in old photos is covered in large trees and the tiny manually placed  tree objects available in my install just don't work. I have created a group of large trees for manual placement where required, and I've placed these on Fort Pitt and around my 'slapped together' Arundel castle. In the case of Arundel, if I place a tree terrain next to the castle in the unlocked Fmb I end up with trees in the river.

I think you are working for the local tourist department Glen, hope it looks as good for real as in your map as it has been a while since I was in the area. ;)

Only been to Weymouth twice, first of all in the 1980's on a scooter rally. it was blowing howling gales all weekend, waves and rain crashing down everywhere,
we were camping, the pubs were cosey enough though. :D  Thankfully there was also a venue playing Northern Soul music late into the night all through the weekend. 8)

Second time I took a drive from where I live in the North West down South and went wandering all through Devon and Cornwall, visited a old friend Melanie on the route that took me eventually to Weymouth, that time it was gorgeous :o  Trouble was there was a military vehicle rally on so I could not find accommodation so had to just do a drive through as it was packed, I did try to get to Bovington but failed miserably due to road works and traffic but eventually ended the week at Yeovilton before starting the long trip home in the pouring rain.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks  PO_MAK_249RIP and hi Pete! :)

Fort Pitt in Rochester has fallen victim to development.
Fort Pitt area today:

I have enjoyed Andy's vids featuring Weymouth, though I still  have to finish Deal fort first, and then on to a rework of Nothe fort and Weymouth harbour . Work done on Deal fort this morning: ;D

If I ever visit the Uk I will have to do a pilgrimage to all sites worked and reworked, stopping off at the tourist department to claim my commision. ;D

I enjoyed Dan Jone's 'Secrets of Great British Castles Series' . I watched this one on Arundel castle recently:https://youtu.be/2IQhFZD5Qu4

This is the only one I hadn't downloaded and it was one of the best.

I love Ancient and medieval doccies.

Looks stunning mate!

There was a great series on castles from around the world, one I would love to visit Krak des Chevaliers.
Although probably not a country you would like to be in right now.
