Boulogne-sur-Mer now almost done.

But..but..that's st Pauls cathedral. St Pauls cathedral is strikingly similar to Boulogne cathedral so of course I used st Pauls 3d model.

I'm using Canon channel German airfields as a guide for airfields on this map, here is Audembert. There is very little photographic reference material on the net for French/German airfields.

I edited the Gs spring French village texture for use for French villages featured above. It is less ordered, but I'm not sure whether to use this or the more ordered English suburban texture that I've used in the following image. I'm not sure which looks better, however I am leaning towards the Gs spring texture.

I also like the Gs spring French village more. The style of arrangement of buildings on both sides of the canal should be different.

I'll keep the ordered texture for ports and cities and use the Gs village texture for French villages. Done and dusted! ;)

I didn't intend to get this involved across the channel but there are some great harbours and I would like to fly more Luftwaffe missions.

Thanks guys! :)
I added three more villages this afternoon so I have good object templates to complete the rest which should go quickly. I also widened my roads on the Gs texture. Once airfields are complete I think the last harbour will be Dieppe.

A very beautiful project. Careful and meticulous work.
Airfields, ports, towns and villages have been reworked to perfection.
Thank you for your work.

And some textures can be improved after the release of this map. I believe it is possible to refine the big black shadows on the Gs textures. And then add volume and saturation to the Gs textures. I don't want to distract you with trifles.

P/S/ Curious what kind of static objects did you use in this work?

Hi Mixx, and thanks for the compliments and advice.

I checked out your Darwin map during the week and it looks great. In particular I like the road placements. :)
I appreciate the research and hard work that goes into this type of work.

I prefer less saturation in textures though I will have a look at subduing or removing the shadows in that texture. I'm always looking for excuses to potter around with textures. :)

This map needs to be released now, I've spent more than enough time on it. There's still a lot of work to be done in France, but I think I'll add these placements as updates after release. Most Luftflotte 2 airfields are complete and I' m currently working on St Omer's airfield which it's becoming a bit of a slog at the moment.

I don't have Bat installed as my interest is solely the Bob era and my installation is tailor made for this era. I don't have hard drive space for huge mega packs.

I'm limited to the objects provided by UP3 and DBW, so I'm using mostly Boomer's French, English, RAF, industrial and Slovakia placements. Iv'e also added shadows to quite a few of these, and increased the lods of some.  I have created quite a few 3d objects like Cathedrals, Harbours and modular harbour, canal and pier objects.

Some airfield reworks:

Simone von Rhaden's smile at the end is as stellar as this superb performance. ;D
She is a brilliant viola player which is more difficult to master than the violin. I'm a huge fan if you cant already tell.  :-[  ;D
