Thai campaign folder
« on: April 16, 2021, 01:36:45 PM »

This is not a request or anything, just a question of curiosity. I have a BAT Blue and a BAT Red install on my system. One has a TH (Thailand?) Campaign/Singles folder and the other does not. Is that part of BAT or did I install a campaign that added the Thailand folder? Sorry, but my memory sucks and I do not recall doing so.

If someone created this a part of a campaign, it is great. Who did it? It has ranks and awards; the whole deal. And it is beautifully done.

I will share it if the originator cannot be found.  Ideally it should come from them.

there is at least two Thai campaigns I know of, available at M4T, one by mission_bug, one by cashmere dave. That's where your stuff comes from, I guess.

That prompted a quick look in the campaign folder. It appears in the JA one. A dedicated Thai one would be fine.

cheers

Hello vonofterdingen, I made two campaigns many years ago for the Thai/French conflict, the thai version used a 'th' folder in the campaign folder but I cannot remember why it used lower case initials, it might not matter if you use either upper or lower case. ;)

The French campaign used the 'vi' folder for Vichy, again in lower case.

Thai units also fought alongside the Japanese occupation forces, there are debates about whether they actually invaded Thailand or not, they did as far as I am concerned, so in that instance you could use a Japanese folder for your missions/campaigns.

The old 'Forgotten Countries' mod actually had Thailand as Blue and Red, the insignia were different, standard roundels or the Elephant insignia, however, sorry to say I cannot recall what folders it used.

My own B.A.T install has 'TH' in the single folder and 'th' in the campaign folder, nothing more, however the countries mod act notepad readme gives 'TY > Thailand (Postwar)' but I have no folders for it but assume it is built into B.A.T.

Hope that helps.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks Andy, I think when I did the campaign that was how it was, not something I introduced so I just left as it was. :D

It might have originated from Fabianfred as he did the Thai map but I am more inclined to think it came from the 'Forgotten Countries' mod, not sure. ;)

Thanks Pete. Fabian Fred is a good suspect since the folder contains the ranks properties file and awards files in tga  format.
