So you always thought that you were the worst carrier pilot ever? I have news for you – you’re not – I am. Whenever I try a landing I always end up as bunch of spare parts burning on the deck – if I hit the deck at all.

Recently I tried mace’s LSO feature which is included BAT JTW. What a difference – so I decided to add it to WAW. Unbelievable! I was only testing, and managed to land an Albacore first time! All right, I nearly overshot – just catching the very last cable, but what an improvement to burning spare parts or a swim.

It occurred to me that there may be pilots almost as bad as myself who would benefit, so here it is:

I did not add the runway landing features, only the carrier LSO (If I can land a WW2 plane on an airfield without assistance, so can you). Full instructions, and a copy of mace’s manual are included (page 1 explains the feature details and setup).

Don't rely too heavy on it... It's a good help in the last few seconds before touchdown, bit for the approach, learn the pattern, learn the power settings and learn to be gentle on the stick and rudder...
There is a good original RN training film about carrier flying and landing on YT showing how it should and how it should not be done, using Corsairs as example...

For the record...I am using a curved approach out of a rather tight pattern.... If you go straight in like on a normal landing using a runway this LSO is more helpful but you will loose sight of the deck earlier...

Today I wanted to install the LSO. I was hoping that it would be the classic man on deck, but I read the description too late. Then I noticed it wasn't the little man with the two flags but an ad on the screen. A SAS member told me earlier that it existed. I thought now someone has modded the little man. Bang ... a dream. But definitely a good thing

I believe the LSO figure your SAS member was referring to is one that is eye-candy only.  Certain carriers have an LSO figure waving his paddles but that's all he does.  It is not related to an aircraft approach but simply eye-candy/immersion.
