This campaign is a 20-mission fighter campaign for the Regia Aeronautica Reggiane Re2005 Sagittario over Sicily in 1943. It was written and tested using the SAS BAT Modpack and will require BAT 4.1.3 or later to work properly. The campaign was created by Von and Lars.

https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=2962Introduction and History by LarsThe Reggiane Re2005 Sagittario was the most modern Italian fighter of World War Two. It was most competent at medium to high altitudes and even out performed the Bf109G6 at those heights!
The Italians received only 19 which were allocated almost entirely to 362 Squadrilgia of 22 Gruppo. It was treated as an experimental unit, as back up for the more favoured MC205V Veltro and Fiat G55 Centauro. The Italian authorities preferred the Veltro, whereas the Germans favoured the Sagittario at first.
It was the most expensive in time and materials to produce, and suffered a weak undercarriage and fuselage damage during high speed dives. The latter was still a problem as the Armistice approached so the fighter was grounded before the end of fighting. However, it still gave a good account of itself, claiming around 24 kills versus 8 combat losses. It was totally outnumbered by the Allied Air Forces so never had a chance to develop or show its true potential.
InstallationThis campaign was written and tested using the SAS BAT Mod Pack. It may work on other modded systems but the campaign uses Command and Control objects and Triggers, so many mission features would be lost or unworkable.
Extract the FOS_Re2005.zip file to a temporary directory.
• Copy the decompressed Missions folder and the decompressed PaintSchemes folder to your IL-2 1946 root folder.
• In the New Pilot Career page, choose Regia Aeronautica in the Air Force selection drop-down. Choose Fire over Sicily Part 1: the Reggiane Re2005 Sagittario in the Career drop-down.
• We recommend turning off No Instant Success for this campaign.
• The campaign is designed to be compatible with any rank selection.
