Haven't seen any of their updates for a long time. One the most needed updated was the AI which they updated in 4.11 I think. Though I do find them to be sharp shooters with perfect aim most of the time. Or they simply ignore the rest of other planes and tend to focus only on me.

I didn't understand everything... sorry ! 
But considering that we are talking about the 409 and that I understood that you were talking about the gunners being too precise, it is good to remind you that a Mod exists since 2011.

Sniper Gunner fix by CY6 and Riken, tested by Malone and Beowolf (4.09/4.10)
   - prevents AI from targetting the player with perfect accuracy. In addition the turret rotation speed is reduced and the detection range is significantly reduced at night time.
