Hello everyone.
With a flight partner we have been testing with carriers and jets, the most modern that Ultrapack allows in its current state, thinking about a possible campaign in Korea, and we do not rule out scenarios in Vietnam, since we have the necessary maps. But we want to know first what possibilities we have. In our tests with carriers, the large aircraft carriers we found in Ultrapack, we have had mixed results. We start with the following aircraft:
A-1H
A-1J
F7F-3
F7F-3N
F9F2_Panther
F9F6_Cougar
F9F8T_Cougar
F9F8_Cougar
In all tests, the aircraft carrier used is the USS Generic CV9 Class MS21 Camo, and it advances at a speed of 40 km/h (21.6 knots). The mission lacks wind.
With the first four aircraft we have had no difficulty in leaving the carrier deck, but with the jets I have not been successful. I admit my lack of experience with boarding jets, so the negative results do not surprise me. What has caught my attention is that with fuel loads of even 20%, and a couple of bombs, the planes end up in the water. Then I remembered someone said, "if AI can do it, so can you." So I decided to let the AI attempt the takeoffs from the aircraft carrier. I did the tests with 50% fuel, and the weapons are detailed in each test, a short video of which can be seen below. The obvious conclusion is that the Cougar F9F8 and F9F8T are not capable of taking off with 50% fuel and a bomb load.
My question is if there are any specific configurations recommended to be able to use these carrier planes without making it mission frustrating or impossible.
I take this opportunity to thank all the work that a group of enthusiasts from this house do to keep Ultrapack updated and in constant development. I personally love Ultrapack, not only for flying online with my comrades, but also for flying offline campaigns.
Thank you very much for your attention.
