Thornhill Arrows: Zimbabwean J-7s
« on: October 28, 2021, 11:40:07 AM »

This was a bit of a "long time in coming" project of mine

I've wanted to do these for a while, but due to information and references on these aircraft and the details of their paintschemes being difficult to track down. Despite this, I think I've translated them as well as I can to the J/F-7's in-game model

First, the all-white daytime interceptor colors worn by the J-7s when first bought in the late 1980s

Next, the two-tone grey camouflage worn by the remaining aircraft in Zimbabwe's inventory, existing in two patterns

At least two (as far as I could tell) twin-seat trainers were among the twelve J-7s Zimbabwe purchased from China

All aircraft I've depicted are ones who's existence I could verify via photos and profiles. As a bonus, I've also presented three marked generics, two in the different grey camos, and one in the white interceptor scheme

nice exotics.

Apparently  I made none of those for my own "African Migs" packages some time ago.

In my opinion, a job well done.
The wheels for the landing gear and the air intake are dark green, and the interior of the pilot's cabin is turquoise and blue.
Almost all Soviet jets, of all types, were painted in this way. Painting the interior of the cabin in this color, somewhere like that, the second half of the Second World War.
Are the Chinese, knowing their aversion to "Big Brother",
they continued this way of painting. of course, as I wrote, it is about the rims and the interior of the cabins.
Photo documentation should explain everything.
