Martlet Mk.III, public Discussion
« on: October 30, 2021, 01:38:37 AM »

Hi Users, Modders, Guests,

I'm currently in the collating of the Wildcats/Martlets and ran into a Brain fart of British Purchase commission
on behalf of the Martlet III and their Mix of Batches.

Wikipedia has it wrong:
Code: [Select]
Martlet Mk III

The first 30 F4F-3As were released for sale to Greece, after the Italian invasion in November 1940. However, at the defeat of Greece in April 1941 the aircraft had only reached Gibraltar. They were taken over by the FAA as Martlet Mk III(B). As these aircraft did not have folding wings, they were only used from land bases. They served in a shore-based role in the Western Desert.[citation needed][57]

Clubhyper is better, but at the AM... Batch Mk.III stated Fixed Wings, ehm Nope...
http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/wildcatfaaba_1.htm

Ten fixed-wing G-36Bs were used by the FAA as Martlet III(A).

Historically there were US on Loan F4F-3, the Greek Batch diverted, some former French G.36AMk.I diverted Batches seperately, and two Tanga Mk.IIIs...

Quote
!!! contrary to Webhosting Experts, these Serials allocated are all Mk.III, not what stated falsely in picture Names!!!

a representative of the ex Greek Batch F4F-3A Mk.III

Here two seperate atypical G.36A former Mk.I diversions into Mk.III, ex french Batches (note the early/rounded US type Curtiss instead Hamilton Prop)

a typicall ex French Mk.I diverted Mk.III

and here a rather unusual in the fixed Wing Mk.III Circus, a folding wings Mk.III Batch (note the Mk.II hubbed Curtiss Prop)

805 Squadron Tanga Martlet one is depicted, Black N HK841 MacKinnon Road/Tanga RNAS
must search that up, is a really hard to trace Piece, was the smallest of the Batches just a Duo...

My question is, what to do, go for the Major Fixed Wing Mk.I to Mk.III ex French/Greek, making up the majority, saw extensive use
in the Desert and East Africa

or

the 10 sole folded Wing second Line Duties Mk.III that rusted away at UK Shores, being towed for Public Screening up and down?

Poll, Ideas, hints, I don't want to get farted at for bringing the wrong Slot,
Mk.III is a Trash Topic, but it's missing, so we'll care.

Externals, any Martlet Type, Propeller, Asset, is here at Hand,...

Done, Test Slot Mk.III fired up Running.
Mk.II has fixed Armament and 3-D

Need to get the Cowlflaps fixed and adjust the Template Skins, again. 100 skins, copy and paste, no big deal.

Once I have commenced Carrier Trials are Okay, no Bugs or Glitches it'll be released.

Flightmodel and Cockpit work on the Wildcats/Martlets I can't offer.
The Slots are revised, any conflicting Stuff will be wiped off.
Armament due to British regulatory for each Mark,
Loadouts on Cod and expanded.

I'm at work Gentlemen.
