Now everything seems to be in order, the chassis can be painted. The skins are not finished yet. Good luck Mike.

Junkers JI, no 1

Early production had a vertical and horizontal ballast covered with canvas. Later, they began to cover these overhangs with aluminum corrugated sheet. First, a rudder for direction and altitude.

The armor plates protecting the engine and crew were initially 5mm thick, with 3.5mm thick plates used in the later period. The radiator was protected from below by the hull, from above by a metal panel.

Aircraft painted using the so-called "Junkers purple" never had a uniform pattern.
Each plane had a different camouflage pattern.

Based on this news I made such a stencil. Now it was "only" left to paint.

Mike, everything seems to be fine now.

The view from the cockpit, too.

Not all the skins are finished yet.

A color often used in Soviet aviation. Blue-gray,or steel-gray.
