Small detail parts that could be molded are indeed frustrating and some photo etch stuff goes directly into the trash.

I do appreciate the detail some people apply to their hobby but for me, if it looks sort of like an airplane, I am OK.

Ever notice that, no matter how many tweezers or razor blades or brushes you have, they never seem to be where you think you left them?

True.  ;D

Well...I wasn't going to let it beat me. The carpet monster was hungry today, so I had to improvise with leftovers from the spares box. I'm pretty sure once she's painted up, there will be few clues to the trials and tribulations that went into the build.

Thanks to this one, I've decided my next build will be a nostalgia buzz from 1975. Meanwhile, I'd better get that panzer grey rattle can all shook up and get the mud mixer ready.

Thanks as always for looking in, more soon.  ;)

No time to myself lately - although my 10 year-old great-nephew had at it with my brushes, paint and glue today while I looked on. Great result for a first attempt. Nice little kit - ideal for beginners, although the decals needed a helping hand from Unc. He's very pleased with himself and has left a couple of car kits here ready for his next visit.  8)

He likes dusting them.  ;D

Well, there's a nice surprise...the girls at work were so impressed with the Easter Bunny leaving eggs and chocolates around their 'in' trays, they got him a little something in return... :)

The original 1969 kit - it still scrubs up well for an oldie. It's going to jump the queue, I should start it tomorrow.  :)

It was a really long time since I checked in
Your detailing of contours still amazes me and I especially like your camo work on the hetzer and königstiger ;D

Keep it up Andy

I'm so stealing that guitar bunny as a calling card  ;D

Thanks, Atoka (and happy birthday!)  :)

What a blast from the past the Panther is so far. Very quick and simple to put together - provided some thought is given as to how the road wheels overlap,* no micro-parts to feed the carpet monster and detailed enough for the way I do things. I'm probably going to have a go at slapping some zimmerit on it.

*The purists and rivet-counters might not like that the centre row of wheels are singles rather than twins, but there are much more modern Panther kits out there if you want to splash the cash.

G'day Andy

Did the last tank end up being finished?

No pictures of it's final paint job.

Hi, mate!  :)

No paint on the Panzer II yet - I've been busy looking after my mother post covid and two ops. She's on the mend, so finally getting back into the swing of things. I'm planning to paint it while the rattle cans are out for the Panther.

Quick update on the Panther. A little overscale, perhaps, but bearing in mind the general 'clunkiness' of this old kit, I think I'll get away with some very roughly field-applied zimmerit. Might have made a challenge for myself come decal time, but by the time it's painted and weathered, it should look like a battered old workhorse...

Now thinking through how to fit the driver. The commander's going to have his legs amputated to fit in the hatch. As this one started life as a battery-driven toy, the upper hull is designed to clip on, so I should be able to put the driver in a lot further down the line. Assembly-wise, there's not that much left to do. I do like how these old kits - with all their faults -lead quickly to the painting stage.  :)

Thanks for looking in, more old time modelling mayhem soon.  ;)
