I am really glad to hear your Mother is getting well.

The Panther is my favorite tank for appearance.

Thanks, mate! It was touch and go for a while, but she's slowly making a full recovery.  :)

Here's where I'm at - build completed (apart from tracks and delicate machine gun on commander's cupola), ready for a first squirt of paint. I think it's going to look the part. Having enjoyed a hassle-free build that took me right down Memory Lane, I'm looking forward to another kit of similar vintage.  :)

As always, thanks for dropping by. Back soon with more plastic panzer pandemonium.  ;)

Getting in gear. As so often the case, I found some vinyl mesh while I was looking for something else, so decided to chop it up and put it to use on the engine deck. I found the tow cables flexible enough to bend to shape (the instruction sheet recommends immersing them in hot water). The gun barrel halves were also quite flexible - I got lucky with a piece of wood from one of those bunch-of-sticks-in-a-jar air fresheners that was an exact fit, so inserted it inside the barrel to give it some rigidity. No locating lugs at the rear of the hull, so I cut up some spare plastic and inserted them after the tow cables were set in position - I'll cut corners, but I hate stowage and tools just floating in air. Anyway, now she really is ready for some paint.

As promised, I gave the Panzer II a squirt while the cans were out, and she looks better it - I'd lost some faith with this one, but she's back on track now.

Thanks for looking in, back soon with more miniature madness.  ;)

Some days it really is as exciting as watching paint dry...

A very long way to go, but inspired by the boxtop artwork (there's not much to go on in the sparse instruction sheet), I've settled on a colour scheme. You know how I roll by now - washes and highlighting will bring out the colours and details, not too worried about the wheels as they'll get covered in filth further down the road. Anyway, I've got a much better idea of where this one's going - here's where I'm at...

Thanks for looking in, more Teutonic tank tinkering soon.  ;)

A little progress. Decals applied and first wash...

...still a long way to go.

Thanks for looking in, more dog-rough developments soon.  ;)

Cheers for that - an interesting listen so far.  :)

Getting there...almost ready for the crew (which means I can finally clip the hull together) and some mud.

Back soon with more big cat bewilderment.  ;)

I just listened to some of it today while working on my mod and it is a bit gruesome. I suspect it is a fictional work, although it seems to be based on fact.

Thanks for kind words, Yaro59.  :)

@rogeroger, yes, I think 'embellished' is the word I'm looking for.  :)

Busy covering sickness at work, no time to myself. On the plus side, I've got next week off in return, so should get quite a bit done. Stay tuned.

Yay! Back to it at last.  ;D

Popped out for paint and storage boxes - well, you know how that ended, right?

I thought these dudes would look nice hanging around the Panzer II...

...or at least the horse would come in handy around the Soviet village if the figures are ropey.

These guys are always useful...

...the birds will come in handy you-know-where.  8)

...and, er, I had such fun putting the vintage Panther together, I went for a later model (in both senses)  :)

Currently slapping mud on the Panther and painting the crew, back soon with a dirty kitty  ;)
