A few applications in, it's nearly decal time. I've decided to put Airfix decals on the Tamiya kit, and Tamiya decals on the Airfix one when I get around to it.

Thanks as ever for looking in, back soon with more modelling madness  ;)

Coming along nicely Andy.

When I think of WW2 tanks the Tiger is the one that automatically comes to mind.
A tank which was built around it's gun.
It must of been a fearful sight for the infantry seeing this coming down the road.

Thanks for kind words, old chum.  :)

It's going to be a bit of a slog toning that cammo down, but it's getting there. After yet another dusting, here's how she looks at the moment in natural light...

And here's the real one in a quite informative and thought-provoking video. Some of the shots go some way to making my point about that old modeller's conundrum - real tanks looking like half-finished models...

Well, time for some shut eye before a few nights at work, I'll be reduced to hit & run modelling for a while.

Thanks for looking in, back soon with more colour match mishaps  ;)

Right! Back to it...

I used the Tamiya turret decals in the end as the Airfix ones only revealed themselves to be individual single digit numbers as they slid off the backing sheet and were too big a pain in the arse to line up.

Anyway, here's how Tiggy looks at the moment. Still a long way to go, but I'm fairly happy with the base colours...

As far as I got tonight. Quite a bit to do on the wheels, tracks and arse end...

Almost there, just a few final touches and the commander to go...

Thanks for looking in, back soon with more of your favourite fun-size film star  ;)

How 131 never got a best supporting actor Oscar for 'Fury' is beyond me...

He looks a bit sad - do you think he's had a premonition? Not too sure about the Raybans, might redo them. His jacket should look greener in natural light...

Thanks as always for looking in, back soon with more landscaping lunacy  ;)

A new day dawns. That's more like it! Right, off to town to pick up material for a base.

Thanks for dropping by - back soon with more Tunisian topography  ;)

After a disaster with Polyfilla, I'm currently experimenting with white glue and sand scooped up from the local beach. With the yellow and brown nylon tufts I've accumulated, maybe some flowers and a few dry bushes, I'll hopefully get an arid grassland vibe going down...

Also resisting the urge to bust out another kit while I'm waiting for the potential base to dry.

Thanks for looking in - back soon with another edge-of-the-Sahara extravaganza  ;)

Nobody can say for certain when 131 took some damage to her derriere - my guess is probably during her last action.

 From five yards... :o

Although tests have proved that it was 6-pounder fired from a Churchill tank that scored the famous lucky shot that bounced off the Tiger's gun barrel and into the turret ring, effectively disabling 131.
