Well, groovers - a not-much-progress report.

The good news is that Mother's finally home from hospital and making a good recovery. The bad news is that conequentially I've lost the table again. Stuggy's temporarily on hold until I sort out a new workspace.

In the meantime, of course, I've added to the stash, invested in tools, paint, brushes and scenic items, and come up with a cunning plan...

Stay tuned.  ;)

Right! Let's get this show back on the road...

Of course, the stash has got bigger while I've been away. The British are coming!  :P

Going to leave the sideskirts off and put a stowage bin on the back of the Sherman turret, aiming for a 'Guards Armoured Division in a wintry Rhineland' look. The ancient Italeri Jeep comes with a canvas top - should look the part for an officer's vehicle. I'll probably abandon the U.S Marines to their fate - unless I put them in some jungle taking this finally tracked-down little feller on...

...we'll see, plenty to do in the meantime.

Well, I'm burning daylight and that cammo ain't going to paint itself - back soon with more miniature madness.  ;)

Still a little bit to do with the crew, but they're coming along. I reckon I've earned a beer.  ]cheers[

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more miniature madness  ;)

A fair bit of progress.  :)

Inspired by this profile...

...I've had a fairly busy day getting back into the swing of things.

The side skirts aren't fixed yet - much to do behind them. I may or may not discard one. The commander figure is starting to bug me, not the best sculpted figure - I might replace him.

Still lots to do, particularly on the running gear and the arse end, but I think I'm finished for today, fairly pleased with how Stuggy's coming along...

Thanks for dropping by - back soon with more stug-tastic adventures  ;)

Decal time!

I went with Panzer Lehr Division in the end, which meant repainting the crew...

Still a way to go, but the end is in sight.  :)

I found some headphones that now cover the commander's lumpy neck. Some painted foliage courtesy of my overgrown garden and we're almost ready for a final varnish...

Thanks for looking in, back soon with a finished Stug  ;)

There she is done  :)

Yet again, another oldie that scrubs up well. Plonked down on a temporary base for now, I'll match the tracks to whatever terrain she ends up on later - the disc cammo maybe a bit late for Normandy, but I won't tell anyone if you don't.  ;)

Thanks for looking in, back as soon as I've stopped dithering over the stash - I'm thinking quick build and simple paint scheme, but may well get distracted.

To the next build and beyond!  ;D

:)) It's been a frustrating few months, but I'm getting back into the swing of things.

Having spent most of the morning procrastinating and having been tempted to break out the British or build parts of Libya and Tunisia with the aid of a bag of toy palm trees I recently sourced, I finallly settled on the Italeri Sdkfz 232 6-Rad. Nicely moulded, although I'm wondering how best to attach the overhead antenna - the instructions call for locating holes to be drilled out, I'll probably heed that advice.

I reckon they'll paint up nicely - and I can use the smaller pieces for some edge of jungle shrubbery when I get around to the Chi-Ha.  8)

Anyhoo, off we go again...

A fairly leisurely pace today. It's coming along. I have to say that the fit of the hatches leaves much to be desired, the rear suspension/axle assembly needed careful study (and in the end brute force), and with no slots and tabs, the mudguards were a pain to fix in place.

I like the detailing on the tires and the steerable front wheels. Looking forward to slapping some paint on it...

Thanks as always for looking in - back soon with more miniature madness  ;)

Well that's the build finished.  :)

A mixed bag of nice touches and frustrating assembly. There was even an important part totally left out of the instruction sheet. As expected, the antenna and supporting structure was a pain in the arse to line up - at present, the turret rotates, but in the interests of rigidity, I'll probably glue everything in place later.

Itching to get some paint on it, but real life has other plans for me over the next few days...

I'm thinking of putting this chap in the turret - it's a bit cramped in there, I'll see how he fits once everything has set.

Thanks for looking in, back soon with more modelling madness  ;)

Such a car in the garden, with its antenna, would be very useful fo drying washed clothes... LOL
