Nice little detailed walkthrough
As I see it all comes down to experience and knowing what you do in the end
It just looks beautiful

Thank you ;D

Thanks for kind words, chaps.  :)

@Atoka220 - no substitute for experience, take your time and do things how you want to do them, you'll surprise yourself with how quickly you come along and improve confidence. Be your own judge - if you're happy with the result, great! If you think there's room for improvement, it's all part of the journey.

Well, a few nights at work ahead of me, then I've got a bit of time off before my seasonal duties. First up, I'll relocate my work space, then I'll start another project. I find that recent additions to the stash jump the queue - I'm trying to get out of that habit. Maybe I'll put pics of the stash up and put it to a vote.  ;D

To anyone thinking of getting into this madness, I say give it a go - it really does take you somewhere else for a while. I find researching the subject as enjoyable as finishing the kit.

Cheers, all. Back soon.  :)

Well, that's the dining table abandoned to its' festive fate. Things more than a little cramped at my new workstation, but I've got to do something to fend off the withdrawal symptoms. I'm thinking Hetzer at the moment. The paint job will be good practice for the much bigger Jagdtiger. Although, thinking about it (steady on, Andy), that Renault UE carrier will take up even less space.

...or I could bust out a 1/72 aircraft.  :o

Best laid plans...not much luck finding time to do anything up until now. Right! Let's get that Tamiya Hetzer built. Falling together so far. Should get the build finished today. The paint-job might be a different story...

Thanks for looking in, more seasonal scale shenanigans soon.  ;)

Oh, FFS!  ]cussing[

Had to improvise with blu-tac and bits of sprue in lieu of missing poly caps for the gun elevation. It's a bit droopy...I'm probably going to have to glue the gun level. Apart from that, it's nearly there, although I have to say, unusually for Tamiya, some of the instruction layouts regarding small pieces aren't very clear - although once things are figured out, the parts go together well.

Back soon with finished build.  :)

Ready for a lick of paint. Apart from the previously mentioned lack of clarity on some instruction illustrations and the missing poly caps, no real problems - although the remote control machine gun assembly requires a little patience. The cammo pattern will take a bit longer than my usual one colour spray and filth it up routine, and there's a lot going on at the arse end, but I think it'll paint up nicely...

Aaaw cute! ;D
The Hetzer is so tiny compared to the figure. I love the sleek low profile design of the German self propelled guns. Last month I downloaded most of the 'Inside the tanks series' from Youtube and the Hetzer was the first episode that I downloaded.

As a kid the stug3 was one of my favourites. I built and painted a cardboard model of this self propelled gun. Unfortunately I no longer have it.

Just bought Sudden strike4 and Ultimate general civil war on a steam sale, a late xmas present to myself. Hopefully there are Stug3's in Sudden strike. ;D

She'll look even smaller parked next to the Jagdtiger. I'm tempted to pick up a Pz38 to show the Hetzer's evolution.

I liked 'Tankers'. I go through phases where I watch more Russian movies than English/U.S.  - some wonderful filming, acting and women who do a bit more than waiting for the men to come home.

Check out Star Media and Fenix Films on YouTube, if you haven't already, here are some I particularly enjoyed.

The Attackers (The lives and loves of a Soviet fighter squadron)

(Series 2 was a let-down, though)

The Dawns Here Are Quiet (TV series reboot of a critically acclaimed film - both worth a look)

White Tiger (surreal and mystical - the lead character talks to dead tanks, but well filmed)

Father of a Soldier (1964, Georgian, definate old CCCP vibes and cinematography)

And enjoyment not the really the word to use about this one, but everybody should see this at least once -

COME AND SEE

Well, the Hetzer's got some paint on it - will update soon.

A very happy new year to all looking in.  :)

As far as I got this year.  :)

Didn't have a sand spray can, so undercoated green and worked backwards with brushed on acrylics. Very much a work in progress, quite a way to go yet. Lots of touching in, the dreaded spots/dots, little details and of course some filth.

Time to open a beer - see you on the other side, chums.  ]cheers[
