Another tea break while the first wash dries. That might well be as far as I get tonight.

Planning ahead (yes, I do occasionally  ;D  ), I'm thinking that the armband decals supplied might be more trouble than they're worth - will probably paint them as a final touch...

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more acrylic adventures  ;)

That's definitely it for tonight.  :)

Managed to do some touching-in and get another wash applied, I reckon a couple of light drybrushing sessions, armbands, boots, and MP decal on helmet (not necessarily in that order) should lead to a trip to my state of the art deluxe spray varnish booth. Oh, alright - it's an old cardboard box...

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more bawled-out bikers  ;)

A very leisurely evening and we're on the home straight. As suspected the armband decals were a pain in the arse. Just a tidy-up, a few touch-ins and a couple of sten guns to go...

That's just about it - I'll give the whole ensemble a good squirt of matt varnish once I've got a few more figures done.

Although no longer cutting edge (as reflected in the price), I think this little set will serve its' purpose as part of a larger diorama when I've got some more British/Canadian stuff done - and when I've got more display space, of course... ;D

Well, thanks for looking in - back soon with more modelling madness  ;)

What ho, cyber-chums!  ;D

Let's build a Jeep...

The plan ( oh yes, I do have them  :P  ) is to do the Jeep as transport for one of these chaps - I should have suitable unit insignia in my spare decals tin.

Stay tuned.  ;)

First chance to grab some 'me' time in days...

Well, so far it's a simple little kit with some nice details. I didn't bother with the engine, but it's nice to know there's one there should I ever need a Jeep being tinkered with by a mechanic. I'll probably build the trailer - a useful little item for dioramas, and inspired by a period photograph, I might well make canvas sides for the roof, we'll see how it goes.

Biggest challenge so far is working out which parts need painting before assembly, although the instruction sheet isn't very novice friendly.

While we're waiting for the the glue on the Jeep to set, here's a preview of coming attractions...

Thanks for dropping by, back soon with more modelling madness  ;)

Hmmmmm...might have to get a Priest after seeing this pic.

That's about as far as I can go before slapping some paint on soon to be inaccessable areas. Not the best-fitting kit, I'm thinking my next build might well be a good old Tamiya 'shake and bake', but for all its' faults, it's going together quickly and it'll look like a Jeep when it's finished.

Mind you, that dashboard will be fun to paint.  ;D

Thanks for looking in - got a few nights at work ahead, but back soon with more miniature mayhem  ;)

Back to it after a few real-life distractions and getting bogged down in research.   :)

Finally found pics of British Jeeps with the carbine/rifle holder fitted inside of the windscreen. Just the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, gearsticks, glass and roof to go, assembly wise.

I settled for an impression of rather than a faithful rendition...

Plodding along. Dry fit for the roof, a little tricky getting everything lined up.

That's about it for tonight - fallen behind schedule, I want to get some paint on it in natural light.

Thanks as always for looking in - back soon with more left-hand drive lunacy  ;)

Base colours on. Quite a way to go yet - you'd think I'd know by now that these little vehicles can take as long as a big tank to finish.  ;D

The roof is still not glued on, but I discovered that with gentle pressure, the windscreen frame will snap into place flush with the bonnet/hood, which greatly improves the overall look and fit.

While the first washes are drying, I'm currently rummaging through my spare parts for British bits and pieces to attach further down the line...

I really love watching your process , Andy.

By the way - have you ever done commission work ?
( I have a specific project in mind for a local High School Memorial )

Thanks for kind words, Kopfdorfer.  :)

I do the odd commission and giveaway (Catwoman was a freebie for a young work colleague) - the thing is I can't guarantee a timescale and shipping + insurance might be a problem outside of the U.K.

What did you have in mind? I'd be delighted to help out if I could. No charge for labour - I'd look upon it as giving something back to the community.  :)
