Hmmmmmmm. What a minor thing to get bogged down on.  ;D

Not sure if the pennant adds anything...the blue just a shade too dark, perhaps, but easily fixed, the one here is a temporary placeholder (full disclosure: I've 'shopped ragged edges). I'm from the 'Have fun - if it looks right it is right' school of modelling - there's something here that's not quite doing it for me. Any thoughts?

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more plastic procrastination  ;)

And the historical photographs are your personnal touch !
I wonder if the drivers did care of the  " 5 MPH speed limit "  board

As usual your work is amazing but given that you specifically asked for suggestion I would say based on my experience on HF radio antennas for 4W cars that the mast should be a little bit higher

I agree with Frankiek. The antenna should be longer. Picture is a M151 jeep but the antennas did not
change much over the years.
Just a very small detail is missing. The hood latches are missing. See next to turn signal light.

Thanks all for kind words and much-appreciated input. Yep - the antenna needs looking at.  :)

Stuck at work for a couple of nights, back soon with more modelling madness.  ;)

I've decided that I'd do more harm than cood removing and replacing the antenna, so I'll chalk it up to experience. It's not looking too bad now.

Well, chums - having great plans for them, I'm more than a little disappointed with the MiniArt figures.  :(

Lots of flash and seam lines down the centre of faces. Lots of carving and filing involved, during which our little character lost half of his moustache. Maybe I should have just swapped heads for a clean-shaven spare. After much more effort than I was looking forward to, he's still very much a work in progress, but has regained some of the character as advertised on the box.

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more moustachioed miniature mayhem  ;)

Maybe a little more work on his boots, but I think that's about as good as he's going to get. On to the next one from the set, apart from a needlessly complex assembly, he doesn't appear as badly moulded...

Thanks again for looking in - back soon with more Tommies in transit  ;)

Well, groovers - back to it!  :)

Disappointment continues with the MiniArt figures. I've spent what should have been a pleasant morning  carving, filing, assembling, dis-assembling, carving, re-assembling, re-carving and re-filing one figure. The cuss-o-meter has gone off the scale.  ]banghead[

Apparently, MiniArt have relocated from Ukraine to Poland and quality control has gone down the pan. Over-complicating a simple unarmed figure in a duffel coat with his hands in his pockets requiring the assembly of thirteen pieces is par for the MiniArt course, but it would have been nice if the parts fitted.

Anyway, he's finally built and should become a nice character once painted - although there's still some carving to do. ::)

I'll get him done today and probably break a vehicle out to give myself the impression that I've actually done something with my remaining days off this week. To which end, I took a punt on some Humbrol weathering materials I spotted in my local Plastiquerie yesterday. Looking forward to seeing what they do.

Thanks for checking-in to what was a brief update - back soon with more painted plastic  ;)

The type of scene I'd like to build. One fine day, chums. One fine day... ;D

Well...there he is. Very shiny at the moment (I re-touched the other guy while I was about it) - I'll let them dry overnight and give them a good squirt of matt varnish tomorrow. Fairly pleased that I've salvaged two scruffy British characters from my initial disappointment.

Oh, I nearly forgot - thanks to you guys, I know a lot more about radio antennae than I did this time last week. Turns out the British used a system of four feet long rods that could be extended to a maximum of sixteen feet if stationary. As for the Americans, here's everything you could wish to know...

Will certainly come in handy when I do the M10 and M8  :)

So...like a great big hairy old eejut, I decided not to bust out a vehicle, but to get the rest of the British officers set out of the way. Fark me! That Highlander's the worst so far.

Eschewing the presented options of an an eight-footer in a mini skirt or a six-footer in a racy kilt slit to the hip, I've had a busy time taking a sharp blade to his arse and thighs to enable the kilt to fit and approximate something resembling the boxtop artwork.

Anyway, the other two chaps are varnished and dry - I'd better look into Northern European buildings and scenery soon.

Thanks as always for dropping by - back soon with more highland horrors  ;)
