Carrire Take-Off MOD
« on: November 24, 2021, 05:45:02 PM »

Is there a "Carrire Take-Off MOD" that can be used with BAT?
Currently I can only line up in a row.

I am not sure I understand you correctly.

Is it about the parking positions on the deck? Next to each other or one after another?
That is part of the ship itself and there is no mod that makes this "configurable".

If this is what you mean....

SAS〜vampire_pilot Thanks.

It was a line from front to back.
When starting, suddenly move to the start position and then take off.
Isn't it possible to take off slowly from the first place?
I also compare this state with the Vp mod I use all the time.

Yes, sure. Just do it. I do it all the time.
I don't see the problem?
You only are "jumped" into place when you activate autopilot, so just don't.

If you have a carrier with catapult (American carriers mostly), it may be advisable to wait until autopilot "jumps" you into the catapult and only then deactivate autopilot again.
Some like to taxi up to it but I personally never do.

SAS〜vampire_pilot Thanks.

"Activate autopilot". .. .. ..
I always set it to "auto".
Set it to "off" and try.
I am always grateful for your help.

Also,

Taking off from a carrier without the catapult system is hard without modifying the speed of the boat and the load out of the a/c.

It almost seems impossible to take off from something like the U.S.S. Ranger without setting the speed of the boat to 50kmh.

Even then a F4F or a P-40 with a droptank will drop off the deck and almost touch water.

However, this is from observing AI and I think there may be a thing where the AI doesn't max out the controls or the engine.

My take off without catapults...as like IJN carriers:

Carrier at flank speed (flank is the top speed a ship can reach) and route counterwind as in RL if you set wind speed and direction....

(I have simple engine controls...if you have complex engine managements you have to understand how to gett fuul trust from your crate at take off)

1 ) start engine
2 ) full brakes (you can also use chocks) and take off flaps
3 ) full power
4 ) release brakes/chocks
5 ) immediately counter the torque with opposite rudder
6 ) elevator down to rise tail asap
7 ) keep tail orizontally to get full acceleration without increase drag tring to take off too early
8 ) a little bit before the end of the deck elevator a bit up to counter the after deck plane falling
9 ) as out of deck rise gear immediately
10) gain safe altitude with gentle clib to avoid stall....

You should be on air safely....

May I suggest/ ammend to the above:
Apply Tail Wheel Lock where available, makes a big difference especially in choppy conditions.
The AI are wack at takeoff and it's easy to outperform them, makes mission building a little tricky, even on land, "how the hell did they not manage to clear those trees?"

"Wing Walker" "Whiskey_Sierra_972" "Dastardly" Thank you everyone.
I wondered if such a takeoff could not be done with BAT.
This video was made with Vp mod.
