Great work Agracier, thank you very much really appreciated. 8)

Installed in my ModAct 5.30 saved no problem:

Encountered a problem with trees on return to the airfield, using auto for testing:

The land and water looks superb, plenty for the mission builder there and the villages complete things. ;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Things grow fast in the jungle ... ha ha.
But seriously, which airfield? If they are tree objects I'll remove and post new updated staic.ini ...

Getting their own back for the loggers, they must have popped up after I took off. :D

The airfield is somewhere in the middle of the map, Boma I think it says on the image. ;)

Downloaded and soon to be installed in BAT.

Just a general question... is there a way to install a map in a way that it appears in all modules (DOF, TGA, WAW and JTW) without having to install it in every module (means without installing it 4 times) ???

btw, that swamp bit next to Boma, with the small pools looks very good!

yes, but let me do this for you :)
it's a question of where to put it in the sfs files.

Tnx ... it's a texture I got from part of Louisiana, in the Mississippi Delta, from Google Earth. Trying to make/get a good looking marsh texture is something I've been trying for a while ... flat textures work decently enough but I'd love to get 3-D 'trees'/marsh reeds' working to give them some more depth. So far no combination of tree textures seem to work with what I have in mind though ...

And I forgot to mention that many 3-D trees spread out over rivers. Normally they would have been cleaned up, but I left them to give a better jungle immersion feeling. An unintentional happenstance that turned out well.

It was late when I installed last night so just to make sure I tested again. ;)

Definitely Boma in Belgian Congo just off the River Congo inscription:

Not sure whether it is objects or the effect certain textures give were they add trees but it
is a problem from whichever side you use, one on landing the other for taxi:

There also appears to be a issue on the water:

For us as pilot not a problem but I always test with AI for mission building and there it is a issue.

One of those maps where the textures just look right for the landscape. 8)

Installed in the 4 modules of BAT, saving fine. Will have to test.

But I would like to make a suggestion. As most people know, thare has been a conflict in Congo during the '60s. UN forces were engaged, among others. But also mercenaries.

So, I think it would be good that, outside of Congo (for example near Cabinda), but also inside Congo (for UN forces), and maybe in the part of the map that can replace Katanga (for mercenaries), we have some airport with concrete runway allowing heavy planes for transport duties (DC-3 or even C-130) and jets (like the Saab we have). It could allow some scenarios for UN forces jets intercepting ferry flights for the mercenaries, for example...

you may want to look at the strip in Cabinda too, there is a net placed close to the end of the runway, that may cause collision issues.

Congo is huge. Katanga is like 7 or 8 maps of this size away. This map doesn't even get halfway to Kinshasa

But I guess a different static.ini with concrete runways is possible. I'll see if I can extract some existing airfields elsewhere with such runways and place them in.

Here is a link for a download for an actors.static file with the 2 objects removed from runways. Just unzip and overwrite/replace the existing actors.static with this new one.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/4leac7qfyn8es06/actors_for_Congo_map.rar/file

Will add it to the first post and later incorporate it fully when I get a concrete runways versions for a post WWII map done.

Hello Agracier, thank you very much for the fix, really appreciated. 8)

Sorry to be a pain but the same airfield Boma if you have the waypoints visible on the map
you can see there are trees in what would be the taxi and parking slots:

For a single aircraft I would think no problem but if a flight is landing there could be issues. ;)
