That strange looking stuff is a grass object, not a ground texture in the sense of terrain tiling.

If anyone has that particular grass object extracted, post the .mat file contents. A change there might tone down  this veritable 'radioactive glow' aspect.  ;)

If no one else has this .mat file handy, I guess I'll have to execute a file dump and dig it out myself...

Actually, I should fix this up in other respects, such as providing more that what appears to be a single LOD. The suddenness of its popping into and out of visibility is annoying.

You mean a "spawned" object in the ground texture so to speak? That´s even more odd.

It would be really GREAT if you could use your magic on this small but ever-present terrain detail. Please, pretty please!!!

LG,
Which map is your problem occurring on? I'd like to look it over, if I have it in my BAT 4.0 game.

The only such grass clump objects I've found so far are tied explicitly to the Runway object of type "ground", meaning the common grass covered strips. There are 1490 polygons comprising these individual clumps, and are present only for the first LOD (which is why they are visible only over a rather short distance.) I've looked at them at night, with light sources nearby, and they appear normal.

The grouping of the objects in your video suggest something different, although it being so dark I couldn't discern clearly how the airfield was built up.

If your problem objects are indeed these very same things tied to the grass runways, then I suspect the shininess in the dark might arise from some light source in the vicinity which has a an emit value larger than 1.0. This is suggested by the brightly lit cloud over a flare or some such object.

Can you verify if the brightly glowing aspect is in effect when all is dark, with no light sources anywhere nearby?

I´m sorry friend wish i could help. As i reply in Youtube i´m using Landscape Excellent, beacuse if i choose Perfect the map won´t load; I noticed the same as you: it happens only viewing from a certain distance or angles of view. And i´m using Graphics extender. Also it didn´t happen before using BAT, untill i loaded this map. It´s very ancient from DBW, and in fact i was suprised that it loads in BAT. For instance using VP mod pack it won´t load. But as you suggest it seems related with the all light conditions; the mission has a random value and can load under cloudy skies and in this conditions it doesn´t happen. Perhaps the green flare shots wich are intended to signal the bombers clearance for landing maybe causing this glitch. I´ll try to capture a screen shot of what i say and post it here.
