Greetings again.  If you want a copy of my mission I can send it as a PM. I really like the radar set up in these mods the cockpit  radar box actually indicates the targets when you are in range. You can also view the targets by activating the  "C"  key  on your keyboard. Once in the radar screen you can activate land/ sea search. Both systems work.  Thanks again,  Ranwers, Mace and any others for your work, and time .

Hi Marvin, yes please, if you could send me the mission that would be great. I did not use the radar as such in my own test, just the CiC set to 'hostile ships'. That might be the difference.

Yours,

Clive

Well, doubting myself, I tried again, this time in a mission with a stationary enemy ship (as before), but this time with an enemy aircraft (Piper Cub) as well.

Same problem, I changed selection to AIM-9, shot down the Cub, then selected Sea Eagle. You cannot engage it as the engagement menu still reads AIM-9 (even though both AIMs have left the rails). When you fire the Sea Eagle, it does not detect the target, just travels in a straight line and crashes into the sea.

P.S. I have also found that you don't need to engage a Sea Eagle (as long as you keep it selected from mission start). You can disengage it, launch, and its seeker will still find the target and sink it. However the above remains true for me - if you ever select an AIM-9, the Sea Eagle will never engage its target after that.

Are you using a BAT setup or 412.2 ?  Let me know if you received the PM I sent with the copy of the mission.

Hello again. I did some experimenting. The difficulty  toggle switches  in Quick Mission Builder should be set to normal or realistic , for  ( at least Mine ) the Aim 9s and Sea Eagle missiles to work properly with the active radars.  If you make the flight difficulty easy, the  combo missiles don't work when together  in the IFF friend or foe radar mode. Experiment. Bye.  Thanks again for the great Mods.  Waiting for the next mods. Get to work. Thanks.

I don't use QMB, but I checked this out in FMB. Settings make no difference - the situation for me can be described very simply:

Sea Eagle works if you never select AIM. If you do select AIM, Sea Eagle will not engage from that point.

Thanks to Clive's troubleshooting & testing, issue with switching between AIM-9 and Sea Eagle missiles and then getting target engagement now resolved.

Update (44mb download) posted:

I really like this mod, especially since it is possible to use 1 Mb size skins.

But I have just a little question. We can rotate the thrust nozzles from 0 to 90 degrees. But in real life, it seems thes can rotate a little bit more, to 98,5 degrees (this is what allows the plane to fly backwards, as seen in many airshows). I know it is a detail... but has it been forgotten ?

It does fly backwards anyway, gaston.

1. Set nozzles to 90 degrees.
2. Set 'ground position' on.
3. 100% throttle.
4. VTO, then set 'altitude hold' on, 'ground position' off.
5. Pull back on the stick, and backwards you go!
