Landing gliders
« on: January 15, 2022, 10:03:18 AM »

I've been spending a lot of time lately on the issue of glider flight. A difficult topic, but after all, Sturmovik are combat aircraft.
By the way, two missions and a movie were created. The time of each mission is about 23 minutes.
If anyone fancies the thrill of flying on a tow, here you go.

Sorry it's here - could someone please point out a link to the G-11 and Me-321

Yaro59,

Greetings.  I always thought that flying gliders was a welcome addition to IL-2, that is why years ago, when MODding in IL-2 became a reality, I made both G-11 and the Me-321 flyable.  Not well known but I am the original mod maker for those two.  The G-11 was based on the BI-1, and I removed the sight, and the Me-321 was based on the Me-323 mod, which was hard enough to adapt, but nevertheless, that is why you get the gun positions.  If you have not tried them, the original mods came out... man years ago...  I want to say around 2010... but I can't remember.  Anyway, because of the AI at the time I created a few G-11 and Me-321 missions to teach people how to use them in tow or in free flight.

The favorite mission I created was for the G-11, where you take off from the incline of a mountain... very fun.

You should be able to play them from the Single pack mission work for BAT, or you can install it in BAT from JSGME.

Here is the original file:

Good luck.  I hope all gliders are made flyable.

UberDemon

Thank you for creating these gliders, I didn't know you authored these birds.
Of course I agree that it is a difficult and time consuming job, as well as the fact that the gliders are an attractive addition to the IL-2.
I just posted in the description of this video that you are the creator of these gliders.
          Greetings ]thumright[

Something with the link to the original file is wrong, or is it my browser ?

The link is fine, but you need to click that you want to keep the file a zillion times because of Win and AV protection.  There is nothing wrong with files as they are only IL-2 mission files and a PDF describing them... but you know, Internet nowadays is made to kill us, so the extra protections are there to make our lives harder... :D
