Big Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 question
« on: January 31, 2022, 08:24:21 AM »

I was sorting through some Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 skins - my ones are by date - and ran into a number of problems. Firstly, the date and numbers of production; on
http://109lair.hobbyvista.com/articles/g10/g10.htm and http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=27058 I found a lot of info, but also some problems:

Mtt Regensburg production:
130000 - 130500 : G-10 (Oct 44 - Jan 45)      = 120 pieces*.

Erla production :
490130 - 490399 : G10 (Sept -Oct 44)          = 269 units
490400 - 490799 : G10R6 (Oct - Nov 44)       = 399 units
491100 - 491500 : G10R6 (Dec 44 - Jan 45)   = 400 units
150700 - 151000 ~ Erla G-10                      = 300 units
151500 - 152000 ~ Erla G-10                      = 500 units

WNF production :
610300 - 610600 : G10/U4 (Dec 44 - Jan 45) = 300 units*.
610750 - 611100 : G10/U4 (Feb 45)             = 350 units*
611900 - 612000 : G10/U4 (Apr 45)             = 100 units*

WNF Diana production:
612700 - 612900 : G10/U4 (Feb 45)            = 200 units*
613000 - 613200 : G10/U4 (Mar 45)            = 200 units*

770000 - 770400 ~ WNF G-10
770900 - 771000 ~ WNF G-10
771000 - 771200 ~ WNF G-10
770100 - 770399 : G10/R2 (Jan 45- March 45)
771000 - 771200 ~ WNF G-10
770900 - 771199 : G10/R2 (March 45)

The gentlemen on the two sites did not entirely agree, I came to the above list, who can complete this with production dates? (* = info from Messerschmitt Bf-109G10 U4 - JaPo)

Then the types: the default G-10 has - according to Hobbyvista - the fuselage of a late production machine, but with low tail wheel. However, this machine has the late wings for larger wheels and related cover.
The G-10 Erla and G-10 c3 have an early fuselage - with antenna mast - but the late, high tailwheel. Unfortunately both both have the early wings with small bumps, and I think there's a connection large mainwheels - high tailwheel. In short, room for improvement.

I hope there is a Messerschmitt expert who can tell me the 'truth' here.

The GI taking the picture even quoted it as FW190, good Fighter Plane...

The Werkenummer points to Regensburg, an early batch (a mixed Batch).
The actual outlook is that of a Lehrbuch WNF G-10.

G10 and G14 Publications didn't helped me with their Lists, I had to
dug into G-6 stuff to actually allocate this E-Bay find.

To your question, Hummmm?
