exactly my leaning at this point, it is just the basic question if to include a .properties into my hotfix logic or not at all and reserve it for a full update
BAT Hotfix: immediate bug fixes/upgrades with no impact on installed mods or game relevant ini files (unless there's a specific severe bug to fix)
Technically, a .properties is a cosmetics file with no functional impact on the game at all. The ini files are doing that. So it is either in or out. And if it's out, it will only come with the next third digit update.
Update third degree - x.x.1 third digit counter increase, includes new content and therefore must contain new ini files too. It includes all previous hotfixes, of course.
Update second degree - x.1 second digit counter updates include basic function upgrades and/or full out changes to Engine Mod or other core functions. They can be a repack of several third digit updates to streamline installation processes.
Update first degree 5.0 - First digit counter update is a full repack/redo of everything.
