What is your 1 favorite, no BS, Pure Fighter in IL-2/BAT:WAW?

Have you tested it vs others?



Recently I decided to take a break from making massive full scale missions to save some of my sanity since I've been making missions more than actually flying.

I just created a basic thing with a spawn so I can continually keep playing a mission, rather than constantly going back and forth with the QMB... Sort of a proving ground based around.

... anyway they are based around finding out what my favorite fighter is in IL-2, not just "guessing."

I've had to do this by years since there was so many advancements from 1939-1946.  Right now I have 3 missions- 1941 - 1943 - 1945

I'm partial to the U.S. aircraft, but in 1941 I'm getting owned like a motherfucker.

There are simply too many great aircraft in WAW, fighters or not.
However there are several fighters that I keep coming back to again and again and use very often.

FL-1_Airbonita
Caudron Cr.714
Whirlwind MkII
Vl-Myrsky II

But aside from default BAT aircraft, I like some of these very much too:

Ambrosini S-207
FM-1-GM (Wildcat with GM motor)
Seversky-2PA and NF-1
HurricaneEx /Ex4/ExT/Hercules

An excellent choice and at another time I would agree.....but lately I've come to appreciate the Tempest V, in fact when I'm in a '190 of any version, encountering a Tempest gets me the most on edge! And I personally feel I can tackle a '190 easier when in the Tempest than the other way around, so yeah, I would err more on the side of Sydney Camm's final contribution to the 1939-45 air war.

Personally? the N1K-J fighters generally, with the best being a tossup between the N1K1-Jb and the N1K2-Ja. This is mostly from my experiences in game versions other than BAT, but from what I've played, it's not much different in BAT as well.

When I was taking part in an online competition several years ago, those planes were my absolute go-tos if I wanted to win, hands down. I was nigh on unbeatable in either, even against I-153s and A6Ms in turn-fights. The auto-flaps and good climb rate are the best features.

If I had to levy criticism against them, they're a bit slow, but I've found that if you have patience and a bit of faith "the other guy" almost always slips up and gives in to their own impatience and hands you the fight.

10/10, arguably the best fighters of WWII

Speed & climb rate & firepower & maneuverability is unbeatable!

Hopefully no "red" fan will aggravate the FM of the FW-190 again!

You have to mention that in real life this came true for the Ta-152H only though.
And in IL-2, if you really wanna appreciate what a 190 can do (in balance with it's opponents according to RL encounters) you'll have to try it in Ultrapack 3.4, cause only there you'll have a flight model in place that doesn't sacrificy everything for anything on the 190s.

Granted, but then again, let me say that the 190 in BAT:WAW is a lame duck.
I'll crack it with any Hurrican given, full fuel, bombs attached, any time.

May I ask you to turn the video into public, so we can view it? I want to see how you dogfight in Fw 190 since I am learning how to use Fw 190 effectively, especailly with the high roll rate.
